Mark Burch Motorsports – Ready or Not Here He Comes!

NEWTON (July 14, 2010) – The Mark Burch Motosports, Chad Humston Racing crew changed it up a little this past weekend, making Knoxville their first stop and heading to Boone County Raceway in Albion, Nebraska, to end their weekend Sunday night.

Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway, just added to the chase for the Mark Burch Motorsports, Chad Humston Racing team. Week after week they put on a great show, battling for their Cup Championship points with drivers like Dustin Selvage; last weekend was no different. Chad went out to start the night qualifying fourth quickest. His time placed him in the fifth starting position for his heat. Due to track conditions it was up to Chad to wrestle the Engler Machine and Tool #1M to a third place finish.

Humston’s finish landed him the sixth place starting position in the main event. The team made minimal changes to the car, which led to an exciting race for everyone. Chad made his move, perfecting a slide job to take Jon Agan and then picking off Russ Hall for the second position. The race went from green to checkered with no stops in between and with lap cars making their appearance Humston would soon find out that Selvage had entered the battle. Clint Garner took the win from his front row starting position as second and third closed the gap during all the traffic. Chad took his #1M to Victory Lane with a third place finish for the evening. “It was a great race, but we felt we were capable of getting the win. We can’t wait to get back to Knoxville to try it again.” Owner Mark Burch said.

It was off to Boone Country Speedway in Albion, Nebraska for the Sunday night show, where they experienced some tough luck but managed to make the best of it. Hot laps were great and confidence hit a high note for the entire team, but an unfortunate engine part failure dictated their heat race finish and scrambling to get it fixed was their new tune. With only two classes and Chad’s qualifier race first on deck, the team showed their rallying call by changing the engine in fifteen minutes!

The Engler Machine and Tool #1M started the night’s main event in the eleventh place position. Chad fought his was to second but it was Brian Brown who would take the win; even in second place it was a job well done for the Mark Burch Motorsports, Chad Humston Racing team. “We struggled a little with the setup, not having enough time to change much of anything, but we brought home another podium finish and the car in one piece. What a crazy night.” Chad Humston had to say.

Get a front row seat and watch as the Engler Machine and Tool #1M, Mark Burch Motorsports, Chad Humston Racing team makes their way back to Knoxville Raceway, and Chad shows his competition what he’s capable of for this Saturday’s event.

Tim has been involved in tractor pulling and holds 13 national titles in that sport, he no longer pulls himself but, has been influential to the success of many other pullers through his advice and building capabilities. He races winged sprint cars when time allows this is something he truly likes and wishes he had more time to do.

Currently, Tim and his staff have been developing a new mini-sprint fuel injection system. There are a handful of these units currently being dyno and track tested with great results. Look for full production of these units this summer. Please call 812-386-6254 for more information. (www.englermachine.com)

Vortex Racing Products

Vortex Racing Products is the industry leader in Sprint Car Wing design. From humble beginnings in 1995 where we began producing wings for our own use we quickly became engaged in producing wings for other race teams. This ability to manufacture a Wing that is unique in design is what has been our success. With the use of our own race teams in Australia and America, we continually push the boundaries of design with an extensive testing program of our products each and every year. I'm becoming a bigger fan of Chad every week. Why doesn't the 1M make the trip to Cameron tommorrow??? I know MBM had been there before. It sounds like that would make sense considering the sponsor in KC.

Or I guess you could be like most Knoxville regulars (excluding a few...) and be afraid to travel to the Missouri bull-rings where a driver's b**ls matter more than his motor.

Ben,

Thanks for the support! Last time we went to Cameron Chad ran second to Jesse Hockett on a rough and heavy track that definitely separated the men from the boys. Hockett was amazing as usual. I knew right then and there that Chad was the real deal too.

I appreciate your desire to lure the "Knoxville Regulars" to Missouri or where-ever it takes b**ls to run.

If you would check your notes I think that you will find we left Knoxville on a Saturday to run Mayetta taking a chance on the weather being good in KS and not looking so good in Iowa. Did we do this because we had big b**ls and wanted to challenge the best of the NCRA boys? No. We did it because I had to be back to Lincoln so I could drive to Omaha and then catch a plane to Baltimore early that Sunday morning. If Knoxville would have rain delayed I would have not made it home in time.

The reason we will not be at Cameron because tomorrow night will be a family night for the Burch's. My wife and daughter and going to Chicago for the weekend and leave early Saturday. Between racing two nights last weekend, working in the shop, baseball, tennis, yard work, laundry, etc. sometimes it's just nice to spend an evening with your family. Although many times racing does come first, my kids are growing up fast. They are still at the ages where they hug, kiss, piggyback ride, wrestle, nerf gun fight, play tickle monster and it is a lot of fun. It won't be too long before they are grown up to the point they won't want anything to do with Mari and I.

Coming from someone who is going in my 17th season running a sprint car, I can tell you that the world will not stop turning if we do not make it to Cameron tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Mark Burch

PS. I will take the fastest motor and the biggest b**ls every time!

I knew you guys have had success at Cameron, That's why I was hoping for a return visit. I just like to see quality teams at Cameron. That place seperates the men from the boys. Last time it was not as rough and Jack Dover put on a show. I understand the stress of traveling but I will be the first to admit that I am selfish. I want to see a good show. The weekly program at Knoxville has been great this year... I just want more.

Good luck Saturday and in August.
