Just read this...
"Al Pombo passed away on Friday 11/19. He was a 5 time San Jose Speedway champion, 7 time NASCAR state champion, 10 time Kearney Bowl champ and 6 time Clovis Speedway champ. He is once again with his old friend and rival Marshall."

WOW! I managed to get it in my head that Al would live forever. A true legend and what a great guy. Rest in peace sir - you will definitely be remembered.

Man he was a true legend I remember him at Clovis speedway and Kearny Bowl we just lost a great racer and a hero of mine growing up.

Very nice article today in THE FRESNO BE about Al.
A real racer in his day. Provided a lot of excitement for me as a teen at Kearney Bowl and other tracks.
