July 14, 2010…Rio Vista, CA…. After a weekend off, the Simpson Racing Team with drivers Dan Simpson (father) and Danielle Simpson (daughter) will be competing this Saturday at the Antioch Speedway with the Golden State Sprint Car Series

Both Dan and Danielle have been at the Calgary Stampede competing in the Heavy Horse competition with the Simpson Percheron draft horse team. After a successful Stampede the pair will get behind the wheel of their 900 horsepower sprint cars for round 21 of the 2010 Golden State Challenge Series, at the 3/8 mile dirt oval at the Contra Costa Fairgrounds in Antioch, CA.

Before leaving for the Calgary Stampede, both Drivers competed at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday July 3rd, Dan qualified 17th with daughter Danielle timing in 18th quick for the night. Heat race action resulted in Danielle getting her best finish, of her rookie season ,taking the checkered flag 3rd aboard the DES, Simpson Percherons, Flowmaster, DryVac number 6up and her dad finishing 6th in his respective heat aboard his familiar number 4s. The main event found Danielle starting 15th and moving to 12th at the finish. Dan started 18th and finished one spot behind his daughter in 13th.

Sunday, July 4th, the Golden State Challenge Series was at the super fast Silver Dollar Speedway for fireworks on and off the track, with a fantastic fireworks display after the A-Main. Dan was the only member of the Simpson Racing team to compete as Danielle was on her way with the horses to Calgary for the Stampede. Dan qualified 18th and finished his heat in the 7th spot. Dan started the Main Event in the 16t starting spot and brought the DES, DryVac, Flowmaster number 4s home in 16th.

The Father Daughter team will be close to home this weekend running at the Antioch Speedway, just a few miles from their home town of Rio Vista, CA. Look for Dan and Danielle as they will be visiting the grandstands during the night (time permitting) handing out autographed drivers cards with many of the Golden State sprint car drivers.

With the team running a limited schedule this year, Dan Simpson sits in the 14th spot for the Silver Dollar Speedway standings and 16th in the Golden State Challenge Series point's battle. The 2010 rookie driver, Danielle Simpson, sits 18th in the Silver Dollar points and 14rd in the Golden State standings.

The team is scheduled to race the following weekend at Chico's Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday July 23rd and then with the Golden State Challenge Series on Saturday, July 24th , at the only Golden State Challenge Series stop of the year, at Marysville Raceway Park in Marysville CA.
