Why was T. McCarl DQ'd for a tire violation for his heat race Saturday at Knoxville? What was wrong with it?

Hey, he hasn't raced in quite some time.
He forgot they switched to "Badyears" for 2010.

He ran a tire that didn't have a Knoxville stamp on it for the heat race. It was a Goodyear.

That seems kind of goofy for all the things that you can get away with!!! They can't figure out who uses tire prep but they will get you for no stamp!! LOL Rules are rules I guess!

Why they have this rule is to save teams from buying a new tire for time trials, the heat, and the feature. Three RR a night would be very costly to the lower budget teams. You must run the same tire from time trials in the feature. To use up some of the used tires Knoxville will let you run a used tire in the heat race. It must be a used tire from a previous night with the Knoxville stamp on it. Terry's was a used Goodyear tire but didn't have the Knoxville stamp on it.

I don't know if they still are but they were allowing a new right rear before the a main this year because of tire concerns. Are they still doing that or did they go back to the same tire throughout the night as they have in years past?
