How many tracks have time trials, interview the quick time winner, the 410 hard charger winner, the 360 hard charger winner, sing the national anthem and push off the first 360 heat only to put them back in the pits so a driver can come out and get his time trial because he missed it.
Knoxville is the only one that I can think of.
No, he wasn't ready in the two minute alloted time. The track used the excuse that he was and they weren't ready, that's crap. The driver didn't even get in the car until the National Anthem had started and they pushed him to the staging area while the National Anthem was about done.

I wasn't there and don't have a dog in this fight but there is more than one way to look at this. In these economic times where tracks are struggling to put fans in the seats and cars on the track what were they supposed to do, say no you can't race or make an exception and put one more car on the track? Rules such as this one are at the discretion of the track. If someone else is late for TT two weeks from now and they say no, you can't race then you've got something to b*tch about. As it stands now if I would have been a fan in the stands I'd have been happy that all the cars present were able to race.
This is one of those glass half empty vs glass half full issues. If your glass is half full none of this petty sh*t will ever bother you again. Try it, I think you'll lead a much happier life.

No this isn't one of those glass half empty vs glass half full issues.
This is favortism and it gets old.
Rules are there for a reason and they seem to keep getting bent for certain people.
Showing this favortism is not helping to put fans in the seat. There were a lot of comments from fans that they are feed up with this kind of stuff that keeps happening at Knoxville and may find other things to do on a Saturday night. That sure doesn't sound like a way to put fans in the seat.
There is a lot of petty sh*t that happens at Knoxville and doesn't get brought up and I think that it finally adds up to where it upsets a lot of people.
I don't have a dog in this fight either, it just gets old that certain people get by with things and others don't. I saw drivers down raising heck with the officials about this that you usually don't hear a word out of. One driver is very soft spoken and never complains but he sure was on this deal.
If you want to talk petty stuff, answer this one.
Why does Jamie Ball, a 360 driver, get to park in the front with the 410's. The only 360 team that parks with the 410's and doesn't have a connection with a 410 car and they allow it. That is what you call petty, but still shows some favortism. I could go on about petty things. There are a lot.
Allowing a driver to time after allotted time isn't petty. It screws the other drivers that he timed in front of for a starting position. That may keep a driver from coming back. So much for your theory of getting more cars on the track.
Have a great day.

On twin feature night I've seen the top B main cars not get to start the A, start behind the A cars and now start on the front row of the second A. I thought b cars and lapped cars started at the back on the second A. I don't care how they line it up but I don't think it should change due to what cars involved.

No skin in this game either .....I am not a huge McCarl fan but neither do I rip on him like others ....on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd put him at a 6. and yes I do realize this is NOT T-MAC ,,... (it was A-MAC) but this was more than odd according to many of the old time fans sitting by us. Quite a buzz going on as to what that was all about.
That said .... the officials can interpret the rule book any way they wish, as nothing in the racing world is usually black or white. (See NAPCAR, WoO and FIA among others rulings)

If it's that bad then you better buy some golf clubs or a fishing boat or something.
P.S. I don't have an answer to your question about Jamie Ball. The tracks I go to up here in Minnesota and western Wisconsin typically run five or six classes. There's no designated parking area though the various classes do tend to pit near each other but they are not required to. My only race this weekend was Friday night, there were 15 360's making up the Sprint Car field and there were Midwest Modifieds, Hornets, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks and Micro Sprints intermingled with the Sprint Cars in the pit area. I had to watch where I walked lest I cut myself on a rusty fender and have to go in for a tetanus shot. In view of my typical weekly racing experience I wouldn't complain about allowing a car that was experiencing problems to come out and time late or a 360 pitting near the 410's.
It's a matter of perspective, my car probably wouldn't even make the 600 mile round trip to Knoxville anymore and I haven't been there in about five years. I'll stand by what I said earlier, I'd love to be able to go to races down there once in a while and if I could I wouldn't get worked up over the small stuff.

Everyone one lap down or on the lead lap is inverted in the second A. I've never seen B main transfers start at the back of both A's just because they came from the B.

I've seen many drivers & crews outside the chain link fence in turn 4 every night. It is allowed for drivers and crews. Must be cause at the drivers meeting last night they said nobody, crew, driver or Queen of England, could walk out in turn 3 where the fireworks were set up. I've seen Madsen, Brown, Forbrook, Evernham, Droud and many others outside the fence in turn 4. And outside the fence in turn 1 also!
A lot of Ball's crew stands near me in turn 4 inside the chain link fence when Jamie is racing.

OMG..... they do?
That is some serious offense, they should be banned from the track for life!

I am pretty sure Jamie Ball is parked on the front stretch because he has both a 305 and 360. This
way it makes it easier when he and the crew is rushing to get ready when there is very little time
between some of his races.

I think teams purchase a yearly parking pass thats why you see drivers normally park in the same
spots each night

I do agree there have been a few times in the past when I didn't agree on how things were ruled on at Knoxville. But ask yourself, where else would you rather watch a sprint car race?

You guys are kidding, right? Bit**ing over where a car parks, when the infield will hold over 100 cars? Does it really matter? Sheesh.....

My 16 year old daughter and I were at Knoxville last night.
We had a ball. Great weather. Ate some pizza. Split a malt cup. Rooted for our favorite cars (sometimes based on color). Loved the fireworks. Talked. Laughed. Really enjoyed our time at the races.
Not once did we think or worry about who was standing where in the pits, where personal vehicles were parked, why someone time trialed late...
Did I mention we had a great time?

Glad you had a great time. That's what racing needs.
How would you feel though if you had $70k and numerous hours of hard work in your race car only to have someone be able to do something that maybe you were penalized for the week before?
Wouldn't be such a great time, would it?

Heard about the officials mistakes in the world cup?
Or the blown calls in the NFL?
Or the MLB umpire that blew an obvious call at first base?
Nobody is perfect.
Yes, I owned a race car (not a $70,000 one but was spending what was a lot of money to me on it) and had bad calls made by promoters. It happens. Telling fans the people who run the track are crooked will not help you. When they stop having fun or quit coming cause they think calls are always made to favor certain teams where are you going to race your $70,000 car at?
