......and for the rest of you-

Outlaw Motor Speedway, Lawton Speedway Host OCRS Sprint Cars This Weekend!

By: John Lemon

Tulsa, Oklahoma (June 22, 2010) - The sprint cars of the Oil Capital Racing Series will produce a weekend full of exciting wheel-to-wheel racing action in a doubleheader racing card. On Friday night, June 25th, OCRS and the Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha Oklahoma will present the second annual running of the "Harold Leep Sprint Nationals." A member of racing royalty, Leep is a multi-time supermodified champion driver who won NCRA titles in 1972-73-76. In 1969 alone, Leep won track championships at 81 Speedway in Wichita Kansas, State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City and the Tulsa Speedway in Tulsa. To date, no other driver has accomplished such a feat. Leep was voted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2000 for his many accomplishments in sprint car and supermodified racing.

OCRS combatants will then load up their gear and travel southwest to take on the storied grounds of Lawton Speedway in Lawton Oklahoma on Saturday night. Promoted by Lanny and Beverly Edwards, Lawton Speedway has been under their control for 48 seasons. Everything form jalopies to World of Outlaw sprint cars have graced this ΒΌ mile bullring. Lawton is widely known for its reddish clay color and close racing action. OCRS will look to "Spray The Clay" when they take to the track for the first time in its history. Moore Oklahoma's Frank Dittman won the inaugural running of this event last September at OMS.

Defending OCRS champion Jamie Passmore comes into this weekends action with the points lead, but only so by a scant 12 markers over last Saturday's feature winner, Rafe Essary of Stillwell. Fewer than 80 points back of Essary sits Bristow's Tim Kent. The father-son duo of Robert and Shane Sellers of Mustang Oklahoma have won three main events combined between them at Lawton in 2010 and are expected to participate over the weekend. In addition to the guys, the ladies will be well represented too. Kacee Frazier of Tulsa and Shayla Waddell of OKC both won heat races in the last OCRS outing at Mid-America Speedway. Both ladies also finished in the top ten in the A feature with Waddell grabbing seventh and Frazier tenth. Their level to race hard and strong with their peers has done nothing but add stiffer competition to a field that has been already laden with talent in 2010.

Outlaw Motor Speedway will open their gates at 5pm with racing set to begin at 7pm. OCRS drivers meeting will be held at 6pm with hot laps immediately after.

Directions: Track is located 8 miles south of Muskogee and 11 miles north of Highway 40 on highway 69.

Track number is (918) 687-9200

I'm ready, the "Day'n Night" Racing Team is ready. Frank Dittman won the Leep jr and Leep sr. Memorial race last year... Can Goodman top both of them?? He is the winningest sprint car driver in Outlaw Motor Speedway history , so mike has a great chance to do it.
