Cody Morris, KELLYVILLE,OK (June 11 2010) - Emmett Hahn Promotions and Creek County Speedway welcomed the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Midget, Outlaw, Non Wing, and Restricted classes to the 3rd Lucas Oil ASCS2 event of the 2010 at the friendly Creek County confines for a non points, exhibition style showcase of open wheel action.
Glenpool, Oklahoma's Matt Ward would capitalize on his inside 2nd row starting position to take the lead from cousin Blake Hahn in the 3rd lap of the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Midget main event and never look back, leading the remaining 17 laps aboard the Smiley’s Racing Products, Tel Star Communications, Lucas Oil, Metric Cycles, and Lajoie Seating sponsored no. 51 machine.
While Ward would earn his first career midget victory by nearly half a straightaway, the issue was anything but settled behind as Eric Fenton and Blake Hahn swapped the runner spot a handful of times before Fenton eventually pulled away to finish second. Current 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw division point leader Blake Hahn settled for the show position. Colton Brewer and Nick Ivy would balance the top 5 of the main event. Tyler Thomas aced heat race action earlier in the evening, while Ward took Qualifier honors.
In Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw action, competitors were again unable to stop a Legendary Flud as 19 year old, Pryor, Oklahoma native Frank Flud would take his second consecutive ASCS2 victory and fourth consecutive win overall aboard his MobilVac, Factor One Racing, Airflow Racing Products, Heritage Flooring, and Fenton Graphics sponsored no. 81 Outlaw.
While Flud would pace the field to the start of the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw main event, inside second row starter Jerrod "J Rock" Wilson would stay within striking distance for much of the event, but would ultimately be unable to mount serious assault and would settle for runner up honors. Scott Sawyer would finish third, with Riley Adair and Kade Morton rounding out the top 5.
In Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing action, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma's Alex Sewell led wire to wire in the 20 lap main event to score his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing win of the 2010 season. Eventual Midget main event winner Matt Ward would pace the field to a series of starts that were negated due to cautions, before ultimately becoming victim himself in the fifth attempt to get a lap in the books as he would be turned around by inside second row starter Dustin Dixon. As Ward would return to the tail of the field, Dixon would retire to the pit area with damage sustained in the incident.
In the main event's 6th attempt to get a full lap complete, sixteen year old Alex Sewell would prove capable not only of that, but also dominating the next 19 circuits as well en route to the victory aboard his BT Powdercoating, Spike Chassis, Fenton Graphics, Revolution Racing Engines, Action Auto Collision, Sewell Mechanical, SDH Manufactoring, and Competition Suspension sponsored no. 73 machine with special thanks to his mother, Ronica Sewell.
Outside second row starter Frank Flud would cross the final stripe 4 car lengths behind Sewell aboard Bobby Springer's Airflow Racing Products Non Wing no. 25, with eventual Midget main event winner Matt Ward overcoming his tough luck early in the event, storming his way from the tail of the 14 car field up to the show position on a very dry and narrow racing surface. Colton Brewer would earn his first career Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing top 5 finish with a 4th place showing, while 9th place starter Laine Heimbaugh would work his way up to round out the top 5.
After finishing inside the top 10 in each of the nine 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS Restricted feature events to date, including four consecutive top 5 finishes, Hulbert, Oklahoma’s Karley Kay Dobson would finally capture that elusive win. Two weeks shy of her sixteenth birthday, Dobson would deliver herself an early birthday present, capitalizing on her outside front row starting position to dominate the 15 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted feature event aboard the familiar Momo’s Racing Engines, Stallard Chassis and Components, JPM Precision Machine, Crescent Valley Jamboree, and Bill's Body shop sponsored pink and black no. 28 machine.
As Dobson dominated the event, Kade Morton would settle for runner up honors, with Cord Dodson completing the podium. Dalton Wisely would snare the 4th position with four turns remaining, while polesitter Will Harvey would round out the top 5.
