I was thinking about Doug Wolfgang's tribute to Jesse last night and I was trying to imagine the range of emotions that he must have experienced; being behind the wheel of a sprint car again at Knoxville. You have to wonder...did Doug feel like "dropping the hammer"? I would have loved to see the 'Wolf" take a few "hot laps".
I had the opportunity to meet Jesse last year while he was racing in Tucson. His contributions will be greatly missed. Thanks to the Hockett family and to Doug Wolfgang for bringing out the 77!

I was really hoping that he would drop the hammer or tag the back of the field for a few laps... But then I got to thinking that they may not have changed the car much since last Sunday at XX Speedway in California, MO. If they didn't change the gears, Wolfie would've ran out of RPM pretty quick. That was very cool though.
