Randy Lewis the Worlds #1 ranked Track Chaser with 1,543 tracks visited, recently visited the GoKart track @ Santa maria Speedway. The following link is the article he wrote.

If you look at the pictures, he comments about a GoKart racer that really impressed him. The picture is of Davey Pombo.

The more I learn about Santa Maria and the folks who run it....the more I like the place. Hopefully those kids in the karts will be running on the big track soon. Keep up the good work.

I have followed this gentlemen's blog in the past and it is very interesting - if not exhausting. I have driven past the Santa Maria Speedway many times in years past until last year when I made my first trip for the USAC/CRA show. I was very impressed with the fan's view of the track and the work that track promoter Chris Kearns has done. The locals are very friendly (Matt and Randy) and made our first visit very comfortable. The racing was very good. You really should make the trip Chad for this year's USAC/CRA race. I think you and Marty would appreciate the atmosphere and the racy track. As a fan, my feeling was very nostalgic and though I have never been to a Midwestern track, I imagined myself in Indiana at times. Which is good! I wish the very best to the hard working Chris Kearns and his Santa Maria crew.

We ran a USAC 360 show there earlier this year and had a great time. We hope to return again soon.
You can read about it on Marty's wesite http://calistogaspecial.com/

Chad, I just spent more than one hour (almost two) browsing Marty's website. What a great site! Great work and I enjoyed reading about each and every one of your experiences. Photos were great. I hope the young boy (at the kart track) is doing well. By the looks for your schedule maybe see you in Petaluma.
