Prior to the USAC-CRA races on Saturday, May 29 at Perris, CA, David Cardey did a parade lap in memory of Jesse "The Rocket" Hockett...then went on to win his first main event of the year in spectacular fashion after struggling in the early races this year.

Prior to the USAC-CRA races on Sunday, May 30 at Tulare, CA, Blake Miller broke free of the pack while they formed the four-wide salute to the fans, paying tribute to Jesse "The Rocket" Hockett in a symbolic "Missing Man" formation. leaving the pole position vacant. He then went on to his first main event race win, after struggling early this year as well.

Adam Jones scored first ever career Winged Outlaw Warrior feature win last weekend at XX Speedway near California, MO during the “Jesse Hockett Tribute” in a JEI chassis that he had purchased from Jesse Hockett during the off-season last winter. He had been trying to win for 5 years following a successful micro career.

Saturday night at Fremont Speedway, Bryan Sebetto also honored "The Rocket" as the "Missing Man" during the pace laps of the sprint feature, then he went on to pick up his first ever career win with the All Stars Sprint Series.

Kyle Steffens came to the Lebanon I-44 Speedway Saturday night with a heavy heart after losing his good friend and fellow racer Jesse Hockett on Wednesday night. After a fierce battle, Steffens went on to claim his first Late Model win at I-44. "I will never win as many races as Jesse did," said a very emotional Steffens in victory lane. "He was a great person and a good friend of mine and I'm so proud to win in honor of him".

Two of Jesse Hockett's buddies Matt Fox and Richard Kriesel finished 1-2 in OMMS action Saturday night at Dallas County Speedway. Both had pledged to donate their winnings to the Hockett family before the feature started.

Hmmm...just my opinion, but it sure feels to me like Jesse is letting us know that he is wathcing over us and will continue to be a part of our sport...

Notes: I edited with additions found on other sites and from stories from fellow fans & racers on other message boards.. Also, I later realized that "Leftylen" had the same theory and had started earlier threads...sorry for the repeat story!
