Last night I had two myths destroyed...
1. Calistoga speedway no longer produces good winged sprint car racing.
Baloney... Even with a sparse field (18) of 410's on hand that was one entertaining A main!
2. Bud Kaeding is a non-wing specialist.
Double baloney... Bud can win anywhere and in anything. He's been showing it all year but last night he convinced me and I'm guessing brother Tim too. Bud has taken to winged racing and is a threat to win every night!
The 1st half of the race saw Tim Kaeding and Kyle Larson checking out and ripping through traffic, at times nose to tail, splitting cars at both ends of the track. The second half was a thrilling display by Bud coming from 5th to run down Allard then TK for the win.
Congratulations Bud and thanks for the show!
... actually, I had a third myth destroyed too but I'm keeping that one to myself.

Great comments of the race. I had the same exact thoughts. Nice to hear Bud win again.

Bud is a "Sprint Car Specialist". He has proven time and time again, that he can run with anyone, anywhere, and be competitive in any type of car. You know that you're going to be in for a treat every time that Bud Kaeding hits the speedway. He never leaves anything on the table - helluva shoe.

I've got a little more to add…
Zach Zimmerly, he's another young driver out west that's got my attention. The young man was pretty impressive at Calistoga. On Sunday, he had quite a battle with Jonathan Allard before taking over 3rd. It was a shame to see him pull up with a flat 'cause he didn't look real interested in settling on 3rd either. At Petaluma, he got faster all night and was real close to stealing 2nd at the end.
These veteran drivers out west have their hands full with some very talented young racers now and I have to say, it's damn fun to watch!
