What an awesome run for Davey last night at Knoxville Raceway. The young man started the A Main in the 15th position and moved up 10 spots for a 5th place finish, as well as winning the hard charger award. What makes this so awesome? With his 410 motors in the shop, Davey whooped 410 competitors with a 360 motor under the hood!!!!! Good job, Davey!!!!!!

I'm really happy to see Davey's results from Sat. He's one of my favorite drivers, and unfortunately, I haven't seen him run yet this year. Next weekend!
I seriously question that he did this with a 360 motor though. I know that as of three weeks ago, they had two 410's, both with about four nights left before needing refreshing. They blew one of them up that week. Last week I believe he was in an accident and finished in the back, but don't believe they tore up the motor. Also noticed that Danny was running in the 360 class Sat., so he would have been running their 360. I honestly don't know, but I don't think they have a second 360.
So, I think Davey was running a 410. Still a heck of a good run. I think Davey is one of the best young drivers out there, and I'm always cheering for him. He's also one of the nicest drivers in the pits, and is great with small kids.

I have to assume Grampa Maxwell wasn't pulling my leg when he told me that it was last year's 360 motor and car....lol. Both of Davey's 410 motors are unusable at the moment. Davey AND Danny both had their 360 motors in the cars. Heck, read the Kville race report if you'd rather believe Bill W...lol. It's true

That's why he sounded funny and time poor. Great job Davey.

I don't want to take anything away from the 56 team or Davey Heskin but it just shows how far down the competition is at Knoxville this year when only 19 cars qualify and a 360 motor runs 5th. It's sad that $$ is taking this many people out of the sport competitively.

Thanks for that info, Ethel. I was not aware that the second 410 motor had gone bad as well. I just knew that when Butch showed me the shop and cars a few weeks ago I only noticed two 410 and one 360 motors. That truely does make his hard charger award remarkable. I don't think it necessarily demeans the other racers on the track, either. There were several seasoned veterans on the track that Davey passed, I believe. My understanding is that he calls his own setup, and when I last saw him at Knoxville,
he was doing a credible imitation of Danny Lasoski, running the bottom with good success.

It definitely was more of a finesse track instead of a horsepower track Saturday night. Not surprising with the high temps, winds, and very little precip

This year has been horrible for teams they are down. Alley, Landis, Madsen, Herrera, McCarl.....I'm sure the list goes on and on.....Again nothing taken away from the 56 because he drove the hell out of it but the track has issues with losing drivers. There was a time when a 360 motor in a 410 field would've been at the back regardless of setup.

yes there was some good solid drivers that have been missing and it would be great if the car count was higher. but im not mising the 24 car at all. id rather have only 20 cars without him than 30 with him. his kid is improving greatly and i hope the best for austin. hopefully the 47 of droud wins points.
