Also posted on Hoseheads main board. If true, and it hasn't been confirmed (either through a news source or his website) anywhere that I can find yet, it is a real trajedy.

i remember i was trying to sneak into thunderbowl at the usac national race at the end of last year i was hiding in one of the stables because i was not working on a car that night jesse was pitted next to the stable and i guess he saw me he asked wat i was doin hidin in there and when i told him he offered to buy me a pit pass this just goes to show the calibur of person jesse was that he would offer to spend money on a person that he never met he was dedicated to the fans weather they were cheerinfg for him or not and it is things like this that will keep his memory alive and keep him in our hearts. thank you jesse may you rest in peace and never be forgotten

Following Hocket's win at the Oval Nationals a couple of years ago, the "Rocket" was greeted by a chorus of boos from the PAS fans following a questionable move against one of the more popular CRA drivers during the race. One particular fan must have been very vocal with his comments and Hocket, while talking to Chris Holt after his victory, simply invited the fan down to the pits where he would gladly be the beneficiary of a Jesse Hockett T-Shirt. First class and a driver that was a pleasure to watch - he was a throw back to the drivers of years gone by. RIP.

On the Live WoO show that was on Speed tonight they did a little tribute to "The "Rocket". Nice word's were given by Jason Sides, "The King" Steve Kinser, and Donny Schatz. It got rained out till Tomorrow I'm sure they will mention it again when the race it aired at 10pm on Speed

Bobby Marcum? ?
RIP Rocket
Casey Shuman say's he's gonna try his best to do the "Hockett donuts" (like Jesse did at Manzy) if he pulls off the W. I hope Lil Shu get's to do this to honor his buddy "The Rocket" Jesse Hockett.......

(like Jesse did at Manzy) Yes Bobby won the last dance, the last race, but Jesse won the A main.

That was amazing, the way the Rockett did those 360's the video only shows part of it and if you listen when the motor rev's up thats when he started that car spinning down the front straight.

Jesse won the A main that night and got out and kissed the Manzy clay.... He knew it was his last chance to win on the famed Manzy half... A classic moment I will never forget....

I remember it well... Like Nathan who was getting out of Robbie's #12 in the Video, it startled me. I had no idea it was coming, and I heard it before I saw it.

The first time I saw Jesse was in a hot lap Session at Manzy, the first year he was out here I believe, he drove the Massey #2... Anyway I'm watching the #2 getting into three like no else out there, and I just know there's a old Manzy pro in it, but I don't know who. So I start asking everyone around me "who in the hell is in the Orange #2, and no one around me could tell me. So I yelled over to Jerry in the corner, asking him who it was and he said "that's a kid from Missouri named Jesse Hockett".
Now this wasn't a ASCA race, it was the big boy's in the 410's and Jesse had them covered until the engine let go late in the race. I knew, I just knew, that this kid named Hockett had "it".
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

I saw Hocket run once. It was at Manzanita and I don't remember if it was under the SCRA or USAC/CRA sanction. In any event, during the heat race he drifted wide out of turn 2 and slapped the wall a pretty good lick. He never let off and threw the car into turn 3 as though nothing had happened. After the races I had the opportunity to talk with him briefly and I mentioned that he had driven into turn 3 so hard without knowing if he'd hurt the car or not. He just smiled and replied that he had no idea what the condition of the car was after slapping the wall.
Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
