Any news about a potential new track is good news.. Piedmont isn't too far from the city - just a short jaunt out NW Expwy. Sure hope it happens but I ain't holding my breath ... if Piedmont's city leaders get behind the deal it sure couldn't hurt any....

JD when I talked to you at the signing part back in Feb. I was told not more than five mins prior by one member of this group to choose my sides carefully. I was kinda like really I wonder what that meant but now knowing what I know now I fully understand the meaning.

Hey Cat I aint choosen sides but the more people talk about doing this it cant be negative. The man behind it I know alot have some questions.

BUT the City of Piedmont is even getting into the mix and I see that as a very positive thing. Like I said before New Tracks are being built in little town outside the metropoliton areas. They want the revenue OKC dont need. I have heard the rumors of SFS as well as other little towns doing it as well but I recomend them not post on this site with the support that Tidbitters have shown thus far.

"The best thing is if SFS opens back up!" but I'm not holding my breath on that either.

I agree with you about the more people talk about it. I see it as a positive sign as well as racing community as a whole. Although, I have spoken with a few people and they have said that if it was someone other than this group they would be very excited.

I guess what I was meaning to say is I am very gun shy about this whole thing with the dealings I have had with this group and their history.

With what the ORA is planning at the end of the year. I think it will be a good thing for Central Oklahoma racers. If everyone jumps on board and supports it.

I do agree if it happens like I have said before, I would go buy a ticket and enjoy some local racing again. And how many times have you (bobcat) got on here and bitched and moaned about Lanny and a few more. But still went and bought a pit pass or a ticket? So when you get on here and piss and moan about somebody being negative you need to practice what you preach... It is my wright and anyone else's to say how they really feel.

So if Mr. Banks finds the funding to build the dream track it is a good thing. I do not go to a race track because a certain person owns it. Nor do I not go to a race track just because a certain person owns it or runs it. I just don't like people promising something and going about it like throwing a dog a bone. It is all about going and enjoying a night of racing with out allot of BS, but sometimes that comes with the territory.

If you want to quote someone about what they said on here or in person. I can remember you saying you would never go to SFS no matter who run it , then you get on the band waggon wanting it to reopen.

Hey Randy Lanny is one of the main reasons it closed early and I've have NEVER said I wouldnt return {find that quote} If you raced cars may be you would know more about where I'm comin from. My posistion at SFS was I knew what I was walkin into when I showed up. The officers of the ORA in the past is another reason we have no track. If people would of listen to my Bitches and moans we may still be racin. Ya pissin an moanin on here I've done my share some in fun and some from the heart, but is not my wright to express my opinion too? Sorry if I hurt you or your friends feeling. My biggest BITCH is that alot of you say you support local racin but do you really? We have no track, the last promoter ran off more than me. I said it was just Lanny time and he would be gone soon I didnt think he would take SFS with him. Your statement dosent even deserve a response but talk about somebody that sways more than Empier State Building. In this post your response is Blah Blah Blah and what an Idiot and fantasys of dreams and lotteries. And now your ready to support it. I wont respond to you on this thread anymore so slam away. You dont know what the city of Piedmont is offering do you? But they are probably watchin!

WTF shave in the morning? As far as finding a quote you have said before on here. It is not worth my time looking for some of your stupid off the wall BS you have posted in the past. That other people remember you posting as well, so we will leave it at that. Or will I get into a pissing contest with you about who knows more about stock car, modified, sprint car racing or running a quality dirt racing program. So go blow smoke up somebody else's ASS...

Ya know I don't post much on here anymore because of all the Bullshit that goes on but a statement made by Bobcat is about the most ridiculous statement I believe I have EVER read on here other than the threats to kill each other in the Factory Stock class way back when Scotty Dee and others had issues and it got out of hand.

So to defend the past ORA Officers one which is a very close friend of mine for over 25 yrs. and he is Charley Ford and also others like Bobby Sloan (RIP) and Sluggo (RIP) as well and some 30 plus yrs. of Glen Hunter and others , Bobcat for you to say that they are one of the reasons why the track is closed is just to ridiculous and for you to blame them is a bad deal and shows how little respect you have for your fellow racers, sure wish you would have thought about that one before you typed it out for ALL to read on here, To defend those folks who put effort into the ORA , did they do EVERYTHING right , probably not but hell at least they were trying to put forth effort to do the best they could with what they had to work with , YOU BOBCAT had every chance to run for an office and show how you could make a difference in it all and get us all lined out and lead us all to the racing promiseland, instead you sit at the back of the room and start YOUR bitchin about this and that ,I was at those meetings many a time in the last 3 or 4 years and heard you , you have aired it out over the internet waves as well. If it was so bad why did you continue to race at SFS? , when I don't like how it is done at a track then Hell I pick up and go somewhere else, this sport is way to dam expensive to spend all that money and time on a car and then go to a track that when you pull up to the gate and get that not so fresh feelin and ya go dammit I gotta come and run at this place again tonight, WHY!!! ,Tell me why keep going back for more and more abuse which in turn makes you get on here or at an ORA meeting and start at it. Ya know Larry Neighbors posts on here sometimes about the ORA being worthless and hey that is Larry's right to say what he believes but I don't believe I remember him coming to meetings and constantly bitching at the back of the room, he just loaded up and went somewhere else and raced if he did'nt like how it was at SFS. Gotta respect the guy for that.

Bobcat that was not a good statement what you said about past officers being one of the causes of why SFS is no longer. Those officers from the past spent just as much money as you did , worked on a car just as much as you did , towed a car to the track just as much as you did and made sacrifices just as much as you did and thought they would try and help the betterment of racing by becoming an officer of the ORA

I no longer am a member of the ORA , see it going in a different direction than I care to be a part of and like I said when I don't like something , no need in going to it and sit through it and start bitchin about it ,but I will dam sure not get on here and blame them for NOT saving SFS in the past 6 months , that would be another one of those ridiculous statements. Enough said just had to defend a friend and fellow racers of the past and who are no longer with us , just trying to defend and show respect to them.

By the way OKCFan12 aka CCC , congrats on becoming ASCS2 writer, guess "The Chauffuer" and or "Greasy Fries" whichever one it is are proud hombre's I would think, I believe you have found your thing in this sport , good job and nice write ups and race recaps , with a little more time maybe SC&M or Flat Out might be calling for an exclusive, Tommy Hahn did well in his recent hire. Congrats

Did I call those long gone fellow racers out no. Bobby Sloan was the last decent president we had til now. Tom wasnt an officer of the ORA during its decline. I show the departed respect and dont call them out when they are no longer here "you did". The people I'm refering to are alive and well and for you to bring them into this shows your character. Bobby stood up to Lanny when he tried to change things in mid stream and stop BS from happening to the Racer. For you to put names of people associated to my post is typical shit talkin as well. I did show up to the meetings to try to keep the ORA strong for the racers but they cower down and rolled over. You are the typical type ORA member that let this deteriorate and jump ship when things dont go well, I expect that from you. But for you to put words in my statement to have my comments viewed differently is lower than the oil spill in the Gulf.

In my own opinion {and it hasnt changed in years} if we would of had a Promoter and an ORA that worked together to put on a viable prodouct they wouldnt of closed the doors but thats hind site. This thread started out on a new track and a town thats wants to entertain this Idea and now it shit talk Bobcat time.

You ask why I kept going back is because my membership with the ORA was over 20 years ago as well and saw the changes and didnt jump ship like some. I wanted the ORA to stay for the racer like it was intended to be but after Bobby passing and Lanny's arrival things went south fast and the ORA didnt represent racers anymore. Membership declined car count declined and thats all my fault.

Place the blame where you want but dont put words in my mouth!

Have a nice day ..!..

I can see the light now in that Bobcat knows it all and is the says all that ends all , to bad you did not run for President of the ORA then you could of told Bruce H. & Lanny E. how it needed to be done and not cower down and roll over (liked to have seen how that conversation would of worked out for ya especially with Lanny) anyway and we would have all still been racing out there IF only we all had listened to the Bobcat, guess we all just missed the boat on this one, Maybe at the new Piedmont track you can become the ORA President and let the new promoter in on all your wisdom ,knowledge of how it should be done not just the right way but the Bobcat way and there will be NO chance of failure.

I responded ONLY to what you wrote "officers of the ORA in the past" , well those names MENTIONED above just happen to be officers of the past (not like it is some big secret, others Stanley Reed , Frank Dittman) , so you said that Bobby Sloan was the last decent Pres. so are you saying that the ORA officers after Bobby Sloan are the reason the track was shut down?

Just don't want to put words in your mouth.

No more responses from me on this one , headed to the car wash to wash my race car and watch the response from Bobcat that I know will be spot on, completely accurate and full of so much wisdom and knowledge and insight that it will be unbelieveable on this thread as well as many other threads that Bobcat will post on in the future on this site.

Maybe David could fire up an Archive section and get all that knowledge that the Bobcat has and he could put it in say cliff notes style and we could all go to it for a quick reference when we are all lost in what to do on ANYTHING dealing with racing and well there it will be Bobcat cliff notes that can get us all going in the right direction.

Headed to the car wash

I agree I will believe when I see it, but hey if somehow it gets done - cool.

BUT until then, open wheel fans should look at what is CURRENTLY running. If not able to make an ASCS2 Port City double.........surely all of you open wheel fans could get your butts up to Creek County sunday. It's going to be a great open wheel show, possibly not equaled until the TNT show in August. There will be 4 classes of open wheel classes running. The 3 divisions of ASCS2 - as well as a 750 to win/125 to start Champ Sprint show. Wanna see open wheel racing without sitting through hours of stock car racing? here's your chance!!!

Dont forget the OCRS show at Mid America Speedway in South Coffeyville!

I would like to ask MR Propps when was the last time you were a member of the ORA?

If you had any sense at all you would know that the Fair board has had plans for the land at the race track for several years. As far as his bitching at ORA meetings he should have been kicked out on his rear as non members or not allowed at the meetings.

I would like a explanation of how the ORA caused the race track to be shut down. I served the ORA for 45 years and was very proud to do so and never once heard anything good come out of your mouth about anything.

I guess Stanley Reed JR and the board of directors is the only reason the track was shut down!!

How can anyone be so DUMB?

I'm not going to talk sh!t but feel that a response is in order. The person I'm refering to knows who they are and I will not disclose this info but popular belief that it is Stanley is false.

Most of my complaints have been about the ORA and Lanny. Lanny problems were obvious the ORA on representation. The most recent proudest day of being a member of the ORA for me was last Nov. meeting when they were going to go down and try to make Lanny change in his representation of the Track. They were going to finally put their foot down on some issues and start being more involved in the track operation for the betterment of racin.

Membership to the ORA {in my opinion} is not just in times of glory, it's in the times of trouble as well and these are troubled times. The ORA has had at least one meeting with a viable coorporation with a Contractor and a Representative of racing that all respect. It wasnt made public knowledge due to the fact of public critsium And this meeting couldnt of happend if they didnt represent a "large group". Members of the past that are leaving now in these times of trouble only hurt the possibiliuty of them representing Metro Racing. In the past they could offer season ending money, throphy, jackets, banquet, etc. Now they are trying to offer some things so we can stay "united" for the ultimate goal of getting a race track back in OKC area. Please join the ORA if for no other reason to stay "united" even if you dont want to particapate in there schedual.

Glen I am a current ORA member. Previous Year 2008

Yes Our current president told you that you needed to join. It only took you 2-3 meetings to do that. When was the last time you were a member before this year?
