1st Greg Bakker
2nd Chad Meyer
3rd Brian Brown, with some help of a badly jumped restart that should have been called back.
4th Austin McCarl
Not sure after that, races didn't get over till 12:20 am. Good show but need to start on time and really should drop 2 of the support classes when they have the 410's there.
The track was in good shape and there were 22 cars on hand.

We went over and got there at 7:40 expecting to hit the end of hot laps, instead the sprinters were just putting heat in the motor. First heat hit the track at 8:40 for the fenders and I believe the first 410 heat didn't hit the track until a little after 10. The only gripe for the night was the start time and end time, otherwise everything else was pretty good.
Notes: - Good to see our buddy Bosma pick up the first heat race of the night in the hobby stocks. Helluva run! - Savage made an appearance at the track! Since the track is so close to his new stomping grounds of NW Iowa he just rode his John Deere Tractor over to Rock Rapids... - Used a draw to set up the heats (no time trials) and then the top 12 in passing points would redraw for the feature on the frontstretch. - The track was pretty narrow in the heats, but progressed to widen out, especially come off of turn 4 throughout the night. - Gregg Bakker ran away with the 410 feature (started on the pole) by a good distance as he dominated lap traffic. The battle was for 2nd between Chad Meyer and Brian Brown in lapped traffic and it was a great one as they were having a great battle. Chad got by Brownie with a few to go with a daring move going 2 wide into the narrow turn 3. - Brownie was up to this position because he got away with the biggest jump our section has ever seen going 8th to 3rd before anyone had hit the gas (and he got away with it as we stayed green). Kudos to Brian for getting away with it. - T-Mac was hilarious as usual in the pits afterward in what was one of the most hilarious rants seen at a race track. Can't wait for him to get back in the car here soon. - Austin McCarl looked really good all night as he came in 4th and was challenging Brown and C. Meyer late for their spots in traffic.
Overall, it was a major success for the promoters other than the late start time which needs to be adjusted to 7pm for the future 410 specials coming up. Rock Rapids has some great promoters, cheap concessions, and cheap beer at 5 cans for $10. We will be back for the future shows. Rumor in the stands was that the Rubins were there with pen and paper taking notes on how to draw 20+ cars for a 410 race...

Big J - Minor Correction to your post, It was just top 4 in your heat race to the draw, no passing points where used to determine the top 12 re draw.

And a rumor is all that would be.
You could draw them a map and write out step by step instructions and the Rubins couldn't reliably get 20+ 410's on hand.
8pm is fine if they start the first heat race at 8pm and drop at least one fender class preferably 2.
That was the 1st race I've seen there since the track was regraded. Kudos to anyone who had a part on redoing the track. Jackson needs to do similar work on 1&2.

To be fair, Big J they had 15 410's and 7 360's (I don't know for sure what those guys have under the hood, I'm just going on what classes they usually run.)

Nice format when it is a draw and still taking top 4 out of the heats then... better fix change that to Time Trials or Passing Points for the next time.
And to be fair, how come those 360s will show up at Rocky for pretty much the same purse and won't show up at Huset's? Its not because of the wall either...

WTG Big J!!!! I was at Rocky too and can't wait for the next 410 show there!!!
Kudos to Boz, you can tell the kid absolutely loves that place
Yep...huge huge jump by Brown...I think even he was surprised they didn't get called back for a complete restart!
I saw T-MAC before the big "discussion" with the flag man.....the look on his face was INTENSE! So didn't stop to chat with him that night, lol
I was WAY impressed with Austin!!! I don't know how many times he saved that car coming out of 4...and in his heat race he was throwing everything in the book trying to catch the leader!! This kid can DRIVE!
Yep...it was a late night...we didn't get out of the pits until 1:15...laid my head on the pillow at 2:09...had to get up at 4am and go to work for 8 hours....but man IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!!!! Awesome to see those 410's on a beautifully prepared tricky wide track like Rocky

I made the trip up there for the show, was pretty decent show.. Glad to see Bakker get the win, he did run away with it. I was in the pits for the night, and what everyone was told was that once the leader hit the gas, then start racing, no cone to start, so I'm guessing thats what Brownie did. T-mac always funny to watch.. Got to love him!
