Track was ruff in spots had rain all week. It rained at the track Saturday morning. Heats were lind up off time with odd timers in heat 1 even timers in heat 2. Dash was top 4 qualifiers.
Heat1 was won by fast timer Garen Linder with 7th Qualifier Canfield in 2nd and 3rd Qualifier Rivers 3rd.
heat 2 was won by 2nd fast time TJ Hartman with 8th Qualifier Hein 2nd and 10th Qualifier Romig 3rd
Main was lined up by Heat finish with a invert 4, so the top 4 of the Heats were inverted. The main was 30 laps only 3 cautions in the first 20 laps for spins by Ivie, Spaulding, Crouch all in turn 3/4 area. then starting lap 21 there were 2 crashes. Hartman off davis into turn1 and Nutter flipping in turn 2 after hitting a rut. Both driver are ok. Hartmans car was junk though.
Not all the drivers had ever ran nonwing, Nutter, DelRosa, Quinn (Rookie). Others had never raced Cottage Grove with out a wing. Cars were from ODSS, NWWT the Oregon Based Nonwing Groups, Southern Oregon Speedway a wing track, Cottage Grove limited wing cars, one car that runs mostly at Grays Harbor Wa a wing track, 1 driver who runs mostly Pavement, and Nathan Ellertson looked up name said he had raced in Southern cali, is this the same driver?
Next Nonwing race in Oregon is ODSS at Madras May 15th.

Yes that was me. Had a blast running for Mike Griffith and Griffith Family Racing. Not bad to qualify 5th and run 8th in the main after being out of the seat of a non wing sprint car for 11 years with a limited motor. I am currently running in the go kart class at Ventura Raceway for Ellertson Family Motorsports. This year has been a lot of fun so far. Here is a shot of me qualifying at Cottage Grove. I would love to run some more sprint car stuff in the future.
