A few moons ago there was talk in here about the track work at Eldora, Are there any Buckeyes in here that have seen first hand what they have done as far as re-surfacing & re-shaping of the track? Seems like I remember talk of them taking some of the banking out of it!! I would rather they add banking than take away from the worlds fastest 4/10 mile.

I haven't seen in person, but I know that they added dirt to try and fill in the dish that had developed in the turns. While that process would lessen the banking some, it'll make it uniform from top to bottom and should provide a better racing surface. Don't worry, I'm sure there's still PLENTY of banking. Is Mr. Bateman around to verify my theory?

They were just rumors, no banking has been taken out of the place.

Thank God for Tony.
I don't always like the guy but I'm happy to see Eldora in his hands. He certainly does alot of good in many ways.

I was there last Sunday to get Sizzler Tix. The track looked awesome. The banking is the same. They just leveled it back out and you can now see more that 3 feet of wall (drivers were complaining that the wall was slowly disappearing from the dirt being pushed up). Hopefully we can get at least one night it this weekend.

Some of the WOO drivers @ Kokomo were talking about the fence being takin out by the E-mod. I spoke up & said that it needed graded down between the turns & Kemenah said he did'nt think it did. If they would have not done what they did, Tony would be repairing the fence more often than not.
