It's amazing that both the Western USAC 360s and the VRA now have these great sponsors, but no effort has been made to help the CRA 410 drivers or team owners. First a huge gap between races and now USAC continues to ignore the possibilities of adding contingency sponsors for their CRA teams. It is pretty obvious that Chris Kearns and a few dedicated individuals @ Ventura are just out promoting USAC/CRA. I have always supported USAC and its new president, but now I am beginning to question their direction when it comes to California 410 Sprint Car racing. With plenty of holes in the early CRA schedule, I wonder how much longer the 410s will survive. Come on USAC do something - anything. Help the car owners and drivers and help the dedicated fans that turn out for each event.

I agree tripcrwn USAC has done very little for CRA/USAC but talk. After Perris cut back on sprint USAC did not do much to pick up other tracks or new sponsors.

Just for the record, the VRA contingencies are 99% the Effort of Louis Espinosa. Louis pounded the pavement, made the calls, sent the e-mails and almost single handedly made this whole thing happen.
Before you condem USAC, (please dont think I am defending them) you are also condeming the drivers, owners and fans of the series. Now ask your self this question. has anyone of the CRA racers or car owners tried to do the same thing that louis did?
Id bet dollars to doughnuts that if Mike Spencer, or Tony Jones, Danny Sheridan got on the phone and called MPD, Sander, Weld, Shaver, Donovan, Hillbord, DSR, Fram, etc etc. you might be surprised at how helpfull they are willing to be.
Louis,... GREAT work man, THANK YOU!!!

Not sure what they do sponsor wise, but I guarantee you they have tried hard to pick up more races. The problem is the purse. Promoters do not want to pay the extra money for a 410 purse. Who can blame them? They run 360s for a much cheeper purse and they get good crowds. When the 410s come to town, they do not pick up enough extra fans through the gate to make the purse as profitable as the 360 shows.

I don't think most of the 360 groups aren't paying a big USAC sanction fee on top of the purse.
