It's a terrible rule. And if they are going to continue to have the rule with the same consequences they should have different penalties for the traveling series. Although now after all this banter I think the rule should just have a different consequence, fine etc, instead of being DQ'd. You're saying I changed my mind like its a bad thing. Isn't the point of discussion to evolve ones thinking of the issue.

I agree Allard is a great guy and a wonderful driver. But that is not the reason I am talking about this issue. And if I was rooting for anyone on the GSC circuit, its just not him.

it is a terrible rule to try to keep cars from driving through an area where people gather and are supposed to have some feeling of safety? and you think it is less important for one group of drivers to break the rule than another? i think the penalty is what it is to show just how egregious that breaking the rule is. various tracks have various rules. i know you might not like this one, but i can't believe you don't understand why it is there and the track has the penalty it does for breaking it. also that one set of drivers should be penalized less. if you think the penalty is out of line and should be less for everyone, well that is more logical. still the track seems to feel it is an important enough rule that they attached a penalty that they feel matches the severity of breaking it. as long as they treat everyone the same, and are fair, most people can accept that. why should a local driver be penalized one way during a weekly show for something, then be penalized a different way for doing the same thing if he does it during a traveling show? all most racers can hope for and ask for is that a track is consitent in it's rules and the way it enforces them, no matter who breaks them.

As long as any track enforces a rule equitably to all competitors, I think that the rule itself is a moot point. While some may not like the rule, the fact that no one gets a "pass" when they break the rule is good enough for me. Especially if the rule is announced at the driver's meeting.......tough call on JA? Maybe....but should he get a pass because he's a GSC competitor or because he's JA? Nope....why have a rule if you're not going to enforce it?

any rule thats in place for safety reasons especially one meant too save lives needs too be enforced with maximum penalty's JA is lucky he wasn't parked and fined --race-dirt i am starting to get the feeling that u are very Young or u are new too the racing world i am willing to bet that u have never had or seen anyone close to u get hurt at the track because if u had u would be looking at this with a different attitude so as u grow and become more educated about racing i can only hope that some day u will see the light before u are the one getting hurt at the track

Apply a rule the same to everyone without exception? Gasp - OMG what a concept. Is this even possible? (insert sarcasm) Any group of officials who starts selectively applying their rules is just creating a slippery slope and nothing but frustration for everyone except the one(s) who come out with the favorable call. Ocean is doing it right - keep doing what you are doing guys. I'll leave any remaining opinions I have on the topic or insinuations I am making to those who pretty much know how I and many others feel about applying rules selectively except to say "the truth is a bitch ain't it?"

It is a terrible rule based on the penalty assessed for breaking the rule. I have simply disputed the penalty for breaking this rule. I never said I didn't understand why the rule was there or that safety isn't a serious issue. I have been around racing long enough to see people die at the track and people injured in the pits. If you have a sense of safety anywhere in the pit area you are doing something wrong. I am by no means young, although I take the compliment, and I am sure I am not the oldest running around on these boards.

We had already resolved the two different penalties for two different divisions, if you actually read my last post, so I don't see why you felt the need to bring that back up.

We can discuss this all you want. But obviously our opinions regarding the rule aren't going to change. This will be my last post in this topic. Enjoy your racing season.
