Should be a great night of sprint car racing in Wisconsin Saturday night with both the IRA and MSA on the card at Dodge County in Beaver Dam, WI. Should be around 70-80 sprint cars in the pits. Anyone else planning on hitting this show?

I'll be there. In the pits, selling used parts and fuel. Unfortunately not racing. Sounds like it will be a beautiful day, maybe a little on the cool side. Don't matter it's opening day.

oh shoot, the MSA is the 360's aren't they. i was thinking it was going to be the Midwest Allstars with the IRA. that sucks.
Maybe we won't go now. 360's on a half mile aren't very impressive. plus, for whatever reason, they crash way to much.
I see Ricky Logan and Kaley Gharst are coming however to race with the IRA. take the good with the bad i guess.

70-80 sprint cars? Hmmmm....
I like your hopes, but I don't think it is going to reach that. Correct me please if I am wrong.

it'll be like 35 sprint cars and 40 360's.
never understood why people get so excited by the quantity of cars. they feel more is better. around here all 70-80 cars is is alot more crashes.
i'd rather have 24 good 410's and that's it.

I think MSA 360s on a small track put on a better show than IRA. MSA has 12 or 13 guys that can win on any given night. IRA maybe 5 or 6. I think no matter 410 or 360. cars get to strung out on the half mile tracks. give me the bull rings. its been a long winter so I will be at the big beaver.

I agree with you about the half mile tracks. I'd rather see them race at a 1/3 or 1/4 mile, but it's been a while and I need a sprint car fix.

I guess I was looking at around 35 in each class. Figured with the 0% chance of rain there might be a few 410 outsiders come in from IA and IL. As for the MSA they usually have a strong Saturday car count plus I have heard they have 5-7 rookies starting out the season that should help bolster the car count.
As for the complainers about the MSA. Would you prefer to have another sprint car class or 2-3 classes of stock cars? I'll take an all sprint show any day. How about supporting sprint car racing and not worrying about what is under the hood. JMO.

I second that opinion...a good one it is!! You always get complainers on here who feel they need to bash stuff even though NOBODY CARES TO HEAR IT....If they don't like it then stay home this weekend! More pits for the people who deserve them!

I get a chuckle when people complain about 360's not being as fun to watch as 410's. When I was a kid back in the early 60's we watched HOF drivers that are revered as legends today run their entire careers in cars that turned slower laps than today's 360's. Anybody who knocks today's 360's must be missing something becuase those are some mighty d*mn fast race cars and they put on a great show. I enjoy watching them on the half mile tracks like Jackson, Arlington and Knoxville.

Kaley Gharst won't be there as the IRA bulletin indicated he would be there.
This show is gradually getting less appealing.

Are they usually pretty good about starting on time there and moving the show along? I'm about 2 hours away and don't want to be getting home at 2AM.

What does the average IRA and MSA shows pay to win?

Note the early start time for tomorrow. Shouldn't be a late night.
Warm-ups are slated for 4:45, with IRA qualifying to let loose at 5:30, and racing to begin just after 6 pm.
I believe IRA pays $2500 to win and $250 to start. MSA is around $700 to win.

Oh no! Kaley Gharst wouldnt have won anyway LMAO he would have probably crashed so I don't know why you think that makes this race less appealing...

i know. he would have finished 2nd, right behind Ricky Logan. Now Scott Young will finish 2nd.
