Then Steve should of got his spot back after the second red flag stop!
|
why would steve get his spot back? didn't he pop a tire and bring out a yellow that lead to the second red flag stop? you can't just put steve back up in front. if you were going to penalize meyers, then the next guy in line would have moved up. steve would still have to go to the back. what meyers did or didn't do had nothing to do with steve's tire.

From what I read his tire was going down on the first red flag fuel stop. Then everybody should have been able to change tires. Kinser has every right to be pissed. If he could have changed his he most likely would have won.
|
if meyers had a tire going down on the first fuel stop, why shouldn't he have been able to change it? you can change flat or damaged tires. now you are saying that everybody should have been able to change tires. well if they had a flat or damaged tire, they should have been able to. are you saying that some guys weren't allowed to change flat or damaged tires? here is the deal, the woo went out of it's way to let guys come in who popped tires on yellows and who popped tires and caused yellows and gave them time to change those tires at the end of the race when there is not normally time given. guys who popped tires rolling around under yellow after the race had gone on for over an hour, should have never been able to go in and change tires and come out. they should have got no time in the work area. but the woo gave time. they gave time more than likely because if they didn't, there would have been no cars left on the track and it would have really messed up points like crazy because guys would have been laps down because of not being able to finish the race and lost points spots beacause of it. the woo had an exceptional situation and it seems they realized that and let guys change tires and come back on the track. there were many drivers that benefitted from the way things were handled during the race. now i don't know who did what or who might have done something they weren't supposed to, but it seems there were a lot of irregular things going on and that a lot of people were involved. everyone is trying to rat everyone else out and say they did something wrong in order to get an advantage, while at the same time trying to say they didn't do anything wrong themselves.

from the WoO rulebook for 2010.....
L.) If any team attempts to fit a new right rear tire prior to any Main to gainan advantage any penalty, including disqualification, is at the discretion of
the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Director.M.) During any Main, any flat and/or damaged tire may be changed, during acaution period in the designated work area. That car will fall in at the rearof the field when the race resumes. During any Main, tire changes will onlybe allowed for damaged tires, flat tires and/or damaged wheels. This rule
applies to all four (4) tires on the car.Replacing Marked Punctured, Damaged, Sliced and/or Out-of-RoundTires, with similar used Tires
N.) Non-repairable punctured, sliced and/or out-of-round marked right rear tiresmay be changed to a used right rear tire of the same size and compound
(with no signs of being new) and remarked by the World of Outlaws Sprint
Car Series Officials. The damaged right rear tire will be confiscated. Should asuitable tire as specified above, not be available, a harder compound may be
used at the discretion of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Director.O.) If a used right rear tire change occurs between Qualifying and a Heat race, that car will be permitted to race and will hold its qualifying time. However, if
eligible for the Dash, the car will start last in its Dash
P.) Any car suffering a non-repairable right rear flat during its heat race will bepermitted to make a suitable right rear used tire change during a cautionperiod in the designated work area. That car will fall in at the rear of the fieldwhen the race resumes. However, if eligible for the Dash, the car will start lastin its Dash.
Q.) If a right rear tire change occurs between the Heat and Dash, that car will notbe permitted to compete in the Dash and will be scored as finishing last in theDash.R.) Any car suffering a non-repairable right rear flat during the Dash will not bepermitted to make a right rear tire change and resume the race.So as I read the rule book, any tire can be changed during the main, as long as the car takes up a position in the rear(section M). And now the WoO has posted the results as legit....so why is this topic being bantered about?

The fact is,...... during a yellow flag stop Meyers had a flat and damaged right rear tire, they notified and asked the outlaw official if they could change it. The official gave an ok, so they changed the tire and went to the back and started where he was told to by the Outlaw officials. From there he worked his way to the front as other drivers were dropping out changing their tires. He then passed Dollansky and was behind Steve when Steve's tire gave out which gave him the lead. The 11 car started from the rear and finished 9th, as Meyers continued to hold the lead for the win. END OF STORY!

Sez you!! There's more to this than is being told. There were ILLEGAL tire changes made by more than 1 team.
If there weren't explain how some folks finished on a softer tire than the rest did who almost blew theirs out a 2nd time when all were changed at about the same time (100's vs 200's).

I wonder if Jason Meyers didn't use some of that special tire juice Danny used at Knoxville a couple years ago.

Actually, Jason was on "special Hoosiers" made to look like the Goodyear.
There is a shop just "across the border" doing the tire work for him.

i'm not sure that you have to use the same compound when you change a damaged tire in the main, or that it has to be used. i believe that restriction applies only untill after the dash.

No DRF, I think maybe a cluster f**k might be a little more organized that the officials were at that particular race.

Not only does it appear the #14 changed a non-flat, non-damaged RR (which should result in DQ), the WoO was asked to look at the tire after the race and they wouldn't...said they 'couldn't just go get the tire'...so someone else went and got the tire for them and took it to the trailer...the WoO then said 'well how do we know it came off the #14?'...the wheel was marked #14, and the #14 team came and got the tire shortly thereafter !! Go figure !! But no one seems to be talking about another car in that race that after scored lap 33, on a closed Red Flag, had three guys on the track, change all tires (flat) AND added fuel !!! Another DQ that shoulda been perfunctory. And supposedly there were radio communications amongst the officials about the incident, and the comment was made that they would handle it after the race. Well, it's now 'after the race'... and nothing's been handled... not the #14 nor the #9 nor any other of the transgressions of the night. At some point, all would hope, people will start doing their jobs in anacceptable way. Or at least not turn their head even when others help them do their jobs. 'Cluster' doesn't begin to describe this fiasco.

Piss and moan; whine and cry... the "super" teams are off to a slow start and ain't no way a rosey cheeked kid from the left coast is gonna beat "us"... Such the outcry, oh my!
Where was all this indignation when proprietary designs were stolen and that cranky old in-bred CM ended up with a new chassis design oddly similar to Steve Kent's.
I could go on for days about the blind eye (s) turned toward the 'King' and that motely crew.
F me with a snow shovel! Better yet, F the 'King', both of them (dirt and asphalt)...
Kick ass Jason... I'll use that 2x4 to give a few toothpick enemas, Chuck the Truck style!
Race the car three races. If you don't like it , for
any reason, return it, without damage, and we'll
refund all your money, build you a new car, or better
yet, bring me someone else's design and I'll use that
to build your next ride!
