Tucson, Arizona (March 23, 2010)
Calvin Landis, of Knoxville, Iowa, raced with the ASCS Southwest Series on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the USA Raceway located in Tucson, Arizona. Driving the Gary Williams' newly built car #79 for the first time, Calvin rolled out to start 3rd in his heat. Developing steering box problems on a very heavy track during the race hindered his efforts to move forward and a 4th place finish was recorded for the heat.
After changing the steering box, the team was ready for the A main. The Williams #79 was to start the race in the 11th position. On a track that was still heavy, but prepped for a racy finish, Calvin soon started moving up through the field. With passing mostly limited to the bottom, patience was the name of the game and Calvin showed himself up to the task. With Rick Ziehl, 2 time champion, clearly showing his car to be the fastest on the track, the real race was between the 2nd through 5th place cars. At the checkered flag, Ziehl crossed the line first, Calvin Landis finished 2nd, with R.J. Johnson in 3rd, followed by John Gaston 4th, and Kaylene Verville coming in 5th.
"This huge task wouldn't be possible without the help and support of a lot of people and sponsors. I would personally like to thank everyone for their help and support and the Williams' family for this wonderful opportunity," said Calvin.

Ethel;
Better tell Calvin to have the team bring that car to the Eagle Nationals on June 11th and 12th.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

What are Marty Johnson's Plans for 2010. Calvin would look good in that ride.
