Madman signs with Halls Motorsport for 2010 Season

KNOXVILLE, IA – Kerry Madsen, the former driver of the VerMeer Motorsports 55 sprinter will be in new colors for the 2010 season. Madsen, who is a native of the land down under in Australia; has teamed up with some others from down under. Madsen has teamed up this year with Halls Motorsport out of Albany Western Australia. The team is owned by Brian Hall, who also owns Halls Haulage. Madsen will be accompanied by veteran crew chief Sonny Kratzer as the team is slated to run around 60 races in the States.
“I’m really excited we could put something together with Halls Motorsport and Brian,” said Madsen. “We are looking forward to running some of the big shows around the states and hit as many World of Outlaw shows as we can.”
Along with Halls Haulage the team is excited to have the support of Goodyear Tires, VRP Shocks and will be running KPC Chassis this season. The first race for the team will be sometime at the end of the month of April. The team will be picking up a truck and trailer in Grand Forks, ND shortly before the season and then it will be all systems go for the Halls Motorsport / Madsen partnership.

Sounds like the 55 is not done racing, I seen a text from the owner saying they will be looking for a new driver.

I have heard rumors about the 55 not racing so it is good to hear that they are still going to. I think if they ran Knoxville and some other area shows it would be a great seat for Wayne Johnson to fill. I am also very excited to see Madman get a new ride. The 55 car seems to have been an anchor for his career. Hopefully hecan get it cranked up again because when he is fast there is nobody more exciting to watch. Hey Tony call Wayne Johnson!!!!

Sonny parted with Roth after Vegas and Kerry had said Ian was looking at maybe getting into the VerMeer Car but nothing was agreed upon or set in stone.

I'm glad to see Kerry will be traveling more. I wouldn't say he was to slow in the 55. Wasn't it his 2nd year on the road in the 55 they had a good year. Almost won Knoxville but poster boy got him when he lost a tire? Oh well. Good luck Kerry and crew. Hope to see you at Ironman 55.

From what I heard this truck & trailer rig was just being stored up there this winter at the Schatz shop, so no I don't believe you are loosing a sprint car team up there.
