Other Class Winners:

As the A-Main was set to get underway, pole sitter Brandon Black of Lubbock, Texas had drawn the pole position but a damaged engine would send the 777 put side for the 30 lap, $5,000 to win 305 Sprint Car Shootout; giving defending RSCS Champion John Carney II the pole position. As the field made its way to the drop of the green flag, Carney would have to outrun defending SNM Speedway champion Kyle Sager into the first set of turns if he hoped to have any chance at victory. Into one and out of two, Carney would get the jump he need as the 3s drove away from the field; leaving Sager to contend with Kyle McCutcheon, Royal Jones, and Bud Keading as the four driver’s swapped second through fifth with McCutcheon finally grabbing second away from Sager.

Out front, Carney would find himself in heavy lapped traffic but as the green continued to fly, Carney continued to build his lead as the McCutcheon tried everything he could to run the 3s down. Behind the 5 of McCutcheon, the 20 of Kyle Sager had his hands full as Bud Kaeding worked his way around the Stealth Cat Racing 20; bringing fourteenth starting Ricky Hood along with him.

In lapped traffic, Hood would show the extent of his skill as the Minks Motorsports 8m moved around Kaeding to grab third while back at the front of the field Carney had built his lead to over a straight-a-way as the race continued to run green. With only a couple laps remaining, Carney had lapped up to seventh place as the El Paso, Texas racer drove to the checkered flag with Ricky Hood running down McCutcheon to grab second. McCutcheon would finish third with Bud Kaeding and JR Patton rounding out the top five.

Audio was great enjoyed listening even if I didn't know any of them. I guess I need to chase down a 305 race somewhere close to this part of the world. I could set myself down and watch one in person.... LOL....

Randy you need to head south of the Red River. There are more tracks in Texas running the racesaver motors. I know Knoxville has added a 305 nats.

There a 2 track in the D/FW area running them weekly this season but there are more Kansas 305's than Texas. That is why I have made it a match race. Last year it seemed everyone that I talked to thought the other kind of car was faster. I've seen them run together on dry and tacky surfaces and I can't tell that either one is faster. Some engine builders say that the iron Kansas head makes slightly more hp like 15 to 25 but I have yet to talk to an engine man that has had both on the same dyno. So it is all talk. Then too it's all about putting it to the ground and driving. The kansas tire is harder and their wing smaller. I think we will see more weeky tracks running 305 sprint cars on a weekly basis soon. I have over 70 305 sprint car/drivers on my mailing list and I'm looking for the top 20 from each side to come race for the 5 grand. 40 cars will make my projections work out. To make it even better for the drivers to cover their expenses, we will run twin A features on the prelim nights so that the cars can compete seperate. We will run 2 compete shows for each of the 2 kinds of cars on Sat & Sun nights. Point will be awarded to each class. The top 7 from each division(14 total) to be called the "MEAN FOURTEEN" will go straight to the BIG "A" on Mon for the 5 grand to win. The remaining cars will draw on Mon for a last chance race to make the "B" ($200to start B main)The top finishers in the lc races will make the "B" then 6 will move up from the B to the 20 car BIG "A" main for the 5 g to win and $300 to start. So, each driver will have a chance at $7000 to win or $150 for 20th place on 2 nights and $200 for last in the B on Mon. That's $500 for the worst luck if you run last, spin-out, or crash all 3 days. $150 pre-entry fee covers the whole weekend.

Well we all set here and bitched and moaned all winter about SFS shutting down. But this year we can go see some weekly shows here and there all over Oklahoma plus catch some OCRS and some ASCS races all is good... And I might even watch me a 305 race somewhere... Amarillo might work depending on where the Hog Wagon is a running... Smile

micros Randy..........

I can't believe you forgot the micro's............lol. frown lol.

Speaking of 305's. I've seen both SST and URSS - and the URSS show I saw was infinitely better. We saw URSS up at the Steve King Memorial at Jetmore, Kansas. And it was a hell of race - especially the 2nd night. It was great race period. worth the trip up there. Versus was there taping - wish they woulda taped the URSS show - their A Main the 2nd night was the best race of the weekend, arguably the single best sprint car race I saw last season. In debating whether to go to Jetmore or another TBJ promotion at West Memphis - the presence or absence could end up deciding the matter.

That and even the Boot Hill part of Dodge was completely shut down by the time we got back into town. But I would give the edge to Jetmore as the drive from the metro area up to Dodge is quite nice. not sure why, maybe I just like desolate countryside - no shortage of it between Woodward and Dodge - or here to Woodward for that matter lol.

There is something magical about racing out in the deep woods of Kansas. Even back in my motorcycle racing days, those Kansas fairgrounds were the most fun to be had anywhere. The URSS sprint races are for real too. I saw my first one last year at Hays. That is why I want to bring them to Amarillo. The 305 racesaver guys are good too. There are a good bunch of them in Lubbock too. The Dallas guys are afraid to race for some real money, most of them are pansy racers that race with the SST series only near home. But between the 2 groups I believe I can put on quite a show.

Answer me one question why can Smiley get 30 to 40 pansy racers you can't get more than 10. We raced one of your shows last year but won't do it again. Don't like being called names

This guy calls himself a promoter in Amarillo but calls the guys that could race for him names. I don't think that is a good way to get cars to run for you. Why don't you use some RESPECT

Im just a meany and I talk so bad to the pansys. You can't count. Very seldom does Smiley have the car count you say, so you lie or probably just don't know what you are talking about.. The SST races that I went to last year only had 22 to 24 showing up wich is ok. I just tell the facts. So, if you came to one of my warm-up races, why don't you tell us you name so I will be able to tell them how you ran and how fast you are or are not. Will I need to kiss you to get you back to my track, maybe just kiss-up a little or are you a big boy that wants to race for some real money?

I don't remember any car #50 showing up at one of my warm up shows. I only wanted 10 cars or so for the warm up shows, and that's what I had 10 once and 11 the other.

What name did I call you anyway? was I right or was I just too mean.

What place did you get? I know you didn't win cause I remember those guys but I forgot who ran 2nd on back. LOL

Mike Whitworth and my driver Cody Whitworth and why don't you kiss my ROSEY RED ASS. Last Saturday at Cowtown we had 32 cars and he turned down several cars. Your doing a good job on me wanting to come back to your shithole.

Just let me know if there is anything I can do to help promote your 5,000 to win show

Well I just lost interest in going and watching 305s. Heck this crap goes on around this area enough. So why travel all that way and see and hear the same BULLSHIT that goes on an hour in either direction from my house? It's so great to be a fan we can go and watch a race where ever we want and not have to hear the BULLSHIT from either side...

Hell, you didn't even come race my Sprint car shows. You weren't even at my race.

You just talk crap.

Let's see now, just where did you finish at the Smiley race?

My race is an invitational and your car probably ain't fast enough to get invited anyway, no loss no gain.

Good luck in your racing,

Oh, and you can help me promote a better race, tell those Smiley butt kissers not to come because they would tick him off and they prpbably aren't fast enough to race at the Big race and that way I won't have to listen to the panseys whine after they get smoked by the Kansas cars.

look back up there, you started the crap.

I'm just playing here so don't take me to seriously. lol

Randy we were at your second 1,000 to win show. I didn't start the crap you did by calling me a pansy. Can't believe you would talk to somebody this way who was at one of your races. Please don't insult me by inviting me anyway, I wouldn't come. Good luck in your promoting you need it. Glad we got a promoter like Smiley, so go kiss the butts of the URSS which by the way I only seen 1 of there cars at your second show. If my memory serves me correctly they had a show against your second show and how many of them did you get? Me when somebody calls me a pansy I don't play around LOL. And yes at Cowtown we didn't even make the A Feature but now have the car running a whole lot better. So make sure you look us up at Kennedale and see how we did. Hows come you cancelled your 5,000 to win 305 show last year? I can tell you why not enough pre entries and you were scared. Good luck in getting the cars this year

Now, I remember who you are. The more you say the more foolish you look cause you don't even know what you are talking about, if you did you would have your race car running "RIGHT" before go to the track, not always saying "NEXT RACE".

We are still in the experimental stages on this 305 Sprint car promotion. We have to try to run them together to get enough of the TOP QUALITY CARS and drivers for this kind of show. I had no intentions of drawing the URSS cars on a weekend that they had a points race. DO you think I'm a fool like you? I don't run against the wind if I can help it.

As for the big race I had 19 pre-entered cars and that would have meant about 25 cars. Then, what happen was The URSS race the week before my show in Wakeeny got snowed out and the track promoters wanted to run a make up race on my weekend. I told the URSS guy (Rick) to do what he needed to do for his series and his guys that if I didn't get a few more pre-entries in the mail that I would cancel in enough time to stop anyone from traveling to Amarillo. I had already found a crack in my plan and wanted a re-do anyway. So, to fix the crack I will run the classes separated until the last day and the first 2 nights will be URSS point nights and they won't have to be scared of the Texas cars and the Texas guys won't ave to be scared of the Kansas cars. Only the stopwatches will be able to see the difference until Monday. By then everyone will be betting on who is the fastest and it will build a lot of curiosity. Then if either side dominates like what happened at Enid we won't be able to make the show work again. It is important to see that we only have one shot to make my track be the great equalizer, that is if one kind of cars is actually faster than the other by dominating and I don't think they really are. I think when we get the best drivers/race teams from both kinds of cars on a day track surface the cars won't matter a bit. It will be all up to the driver and the set up, the way racing should be. So by canceling last year may turn out to be a plus. I'm in no hurry to make my millions of you drivers. LOL

If for what ever reason I can't get enough entries then I will cancel again. Cause two things are not happening. 1. NO PURSE CUTS and 2. I ain't going to loose any of my hard earned money on the deal. LOL

With this new business plan I am confident I will get the 40 cars that I need and now I have 3 names on the list that won't be invited. After a year or two we will see who is asking can I please kiss that Rosy red ass. Have fun be happy!!!!!!!!!!!

The smiley series has it's own place and it's a good place for you son to learn. I think the 305 class will grow at the weekly tracks in the D/FW area cause they have no other stepping stone for the up and comers. The 600 mini guys that want to graduate on up would have to jump the 360 stuff and most need something in between. Like in Okla, they some options in sprint cars that won't be such a big step and get into something way over their heads with the big boys 360 clas.

You are right about one thing I am a fool. I own a sprint car and I am sittin here on this forum tradin jabs with you. I sure wish that everytime I went to the track the car would run perfect, or I would have the right setup on the car, or my driver would run a perfect race. Just don't see that happening so I will keep trying. The reason why we race the 305 class is because I can't afford a 410 or an ASCS motor. Good luck on your race and keep them lips warmed up. LOL
