Come on Mike.....that took all of 30 seconds. Myself, I'm not that interested in basketball scores, but then a lot of people went to the races and were very interested in the outcome of the playoffs. Take a big breath Mike, it isn't that bad.

The track I went to in the 1990s ran Saturday nights had an announcer who went out of his way to tell us who won the live televised WoO races back in the days when telecasts were common. People would be yelling NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but he'd still took great delight in shooting his mouth off. (Apparently he had never heard of the VCR).
Finally, people starting staying home from the races to watch TV instead, and track management got the message and he started keeping quiet.

Wow .... tough crowd .....
U.T. and 2 Ohio schools and 1 or 2 Indiana universities were still in the play-offs ..... perhaps the track management requested Johnny give scoring up dates for the pleasure/knowledge of their PAYING crowd?
I would guess over 50% of the crowd was from those 3 states. Yeah ....maybe those schools mentioned weren't playing in the exact games Johnny gave updates on ....but the ramifications (office pools) of those games will also affect their favorite teams.
The crowds at ANY sporting event do not live and exist in a vacuum......college and high school sports are hugely interesting in many areas.
Do I personally care about basketball ??? No ..... but giving scores to the other folks in the crowd that do ....doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Johnny has the ability to only broadcast at the track or on the broadcast or both at the same time...

Nope, from Minnesota and at no point did I mention basketball. This has happen many times before with other sporting events broadcasted on T.V. like last years Stanley Cup. I just finally mentioned something last night.

Just the age we live in. All sports shows constantly update scores of other events, even those unrelated to what they are broadcasting. Not a big deal to me, I could care less about stick & ball stuff when I'm watching or listening to a sprint car race.

At this point, the requests to GIVE scores far outweigh the requests to avoid mentioning them.

The way things are today, I bet 90% of the people who had interest in the game were
getting updates straight to their cell phones. The other 10% logged on to Hoseheads to
complain.

Come to the "Pink Hair Palace" in Mechanicsburg, PA. on a friday night and sit on the backstretch........you wont hear a thing!....Maybe they can get the PA system fixed after a few years of difficulties! No scores, no interviews, NOTHING!

Some folks take some things that others do WAY too seriously...if Johnny announcing the game scores really bothers you, stop listening to Johnny and Dirtvision.
It's his show, and if you don't like the content, change the channel!
