Anyone else notice that the audio quality on Dirtvision has been absolutely horrible this year? In all previous seasons the audio quality was just fine. This year it sounds extremely distorted and overdriven. In addition they are streaming it at a measly 12K bitrate = very, very low quality audio. Also the DV chatroom screen is cluttered with unnecessary hyphens in everyone's names. Seems like they would care enough about their product to fix it ... seems like it anyway ... maybe they just don't care ...

I haven't given up on them ... the video stream is a bit more reliable this year so far - but the video quality seems a bit less than last year - guess they are reducing bandwidth to help stability. The audio is abhorrent though - streaming at only 12K??? I guess they are catering to those listeners who have a tin can and a string for an internet connection... but frankly I think a tin can and a string would sound better ... at least it wouldn't be so terribly distorted anyways .....
Surely they will fix it ... just wondering why it hasn't already happened?

maybe you should voice your opinion to jeannie butler. the butlers have their name on that deal and even though you could say they are just sponsers, jeannie is the one who is more involved in it. i know she does care. maybe she can let you know what is going on and maybe you can offer suggestions.

I listen to almost every broadcast. I think the problem is with the new software, which is being blamed for the hyphens in all user names. Evidently they switched to a new system/software/something and the new company's techs are supposedly working on it.
If you sign a contract with a company, they have to fix it, but you're pretty much stuck with them.
It's only been a couple of shows, take the twists out of your panties and be patient.

I'm going to take responsibility for this one. During the off-season I switched to a Sony Vaio with Windows 7 that is superior in every way to my old Dell with, apparently, the exception of the sound card. I've switched back to the Dell while I look for an upgade for the Sony sound card. My apologies--I couldn't understand why the quality was any different when all of my settings were the same. I'm not that great with computers . . .

Johnny, thanks for your comments. Tonight it sounded great. You did one h$ll of a job keeping us on the edge of our chairs while TK and Jason Sides put on one heck of a show. You make us feel it even if we can't see it. Thank You.
