The worst part about the Cap and Trade scam is that they want to put meters in everybody's cars, and then tax us by MILES DRIVEN.

That means the Yuppy with the Escalade who gets half the gas mileage I do pays the same tax.

What idiot thought of that?

Worst scenario from those radicals - end racing altogether or have them use electric motors or some other silly idea.

Why, you don't agree wth what is being said in the article? You, probably didn't even read it. I've read it twice and can't disagree with anything being said. Hmm. I go read it again.

What idiot thought of that?

the idiots that keep telling you to conserve. the thing is, you are not buying enough gas and paying the outragious tax on it imposed by the local, state, and national governments by having a car that uses less gas. since the taxes come from the aount of GAS you by, they cry that they can't get enough revenue because people are conserving too much. ever noticed that every time you conserve on something the price goes up on it? you save water.... the price per measured amount goes up. you save electricity.... the price per measured amount goes up. it is all just a scam to get us to pay more for less and them to sell less for more. remember in the 70's? they said if we didn't save gas it would all be gone in 20 years. right before they started raising the prices. the government is no different than the businesses that are selling stuff when it comes to price jacking. no matter what we use for fuel or energy, we the people will have to pay SOMEONE for it. it doesn't matter if it is oil, corn or dog crap. the thing is, the government (this administration in particular) wants to create another alternative fuel and energy industry that they can milk since they haven't been able to put the current ones out of business. they have been trying for YEARS to put the oil and electric companies out of business, but they have not been able to. they have taxed them and put restrictions on them and made them conform to regulations by the score but the same major suppliers still rule. the government is not trying to SAVE us any money, they are just trying to change WHERE we spend it.... and they want to be able to have more control over it and be able to see more money for them in it. the liberal government that we now have wants to control as much of the countries finances as it can so it can use that money for it's own reasons. they know that money is power. they hate that business has power they don't in the form of money. they are trying to gain control of more of the money by taking it from the businesses (and taking over businesses) and those private citizens that are wealthy. two things that we the people can have to protect our selves, even though they are obviously different, are guns and money. this government in particular and liberals in general have been trying to take those away from the people for years. stop and think about it, what are the two things liberals hate? people with money and people with guns. why? because they have the means to take care of themselves or protect themselves pretty much with out any outside help, and liberals can't stand it when someone doesn't need something from them. they are always trying to make us dependant.

"Fuels for heating, cooling, transportation, manufacturing and lighting (our oil & gas industry, coal industry, nuclear power, solar & wind generation)."

Fact: Last month the Obama administration began the push for legislation to build the first two new nuclear power plants in the United States since the 70's. Despite the fact that both houses of congress and the White House have had republican majorities several times in the interim.

"The Dow Jones average was still above 10,500 in October of 2008."

Fact: The third largest one-day point drop in DJIA history, and largest at the time, occurred on September 17, 2001,the first day of trading after the September 11, 2001 attacks, when the Dow fell 684.81 points, or 7.1%. It should be noted that the Dow had been in a downward trend for virtually all of 2001 prior to Sept 11, losing well over 1000 points between Jan 2 and Sept. 10, and had lost 187.51 points on Sept. 6, followed by losing 235.4 points on Sept. 7. By the end of that week, the Dow had fallen 1,369.70 points, or 14.3%.

On February 27, 2007, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 3.3% (415.30 points), its biggest point drop since 2001.

On September 15, 2008, a wider financial crisis became evident when Lehman Brothers filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy along with the economic effect of record high oil prices which reached almost $150 per barrel two months earlier. The DJIA lost more than 500 points for only the sixth time in history, returning to its mid-July lows below the 11,000 level. A series of "bailout" packages, including the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, proposed and implemented by the Federal Reserve and U.S. Treasury, as well as FDIC-sponsored bank mergers, did not prevent further losses. After two months of extreme volatility, during which the Dow experienced its largest one day point loss, largest intra-day range (more than 1,000 points) and largest daily point gain, the index closed at a new six-year low of 7,552.29 on November 20. The market proceeded with a modest rise to close the year near the 9,000 level, still its worst annual performance since the early 1930s.

While the "author's" statement is techically true, he has clearly ignored the fact that 10,500 on the index is over 4,000 points below it's all time high and increased it's downfall at that time despite the push that the republican nominees made in the poles throughout August and September. Both major political parties had their hands in deregulating the housing and banking industries that lead to the "bubble bursting" that was the leading cause of the current ressesion.

"There is, perhaps, a correlation between the fact that Financial Stocks suffered their worst day in modern history……on Inauguration Day……Business Leaders do have some foresight."

This is a blatent lie. See the information posted above.

"The founders of our Nation demonstrated their belief in God. They injected this belief into our Constitution as the Right of Freedom of Religion, but also made provision for separation of Church and State."

Fact: Another lie. Jefferson, Payne and Franklin were unitarians that denied the devinity of Jesus. Jefferson went so far as to write/edit a new version of the new testament that had any mention of his devinity removed. Infact, the first mention of God in the constitution or any of it's amendments wasn't made until 1954.

It's pretty sad when people have the greatest information gathering tool known in the history of man, but would rather remain willfully ignorant in the name of ideology. While I completely agree with the "author" when he says that we should be fiscally responsible as a nation (I am a true Libertarian after-all), I think that anyone that presents an argument with willful lies and deception should "water the tree of liberty".
