Just read on east bay's website that tonights race has been canceled due to... "Cold"? ARE YOU SERIOUS? I would be so pissed if I drove my rig and equipment to Florida to be given the shaft for a cold excuse. I would boycott the Allstars FOREVER !!

the all stars didn't cancel the race, the promoter did, due to wet grounds and cold

Anybody want to take bets that the WoO late model race at Volusia will still take place tonight? And yes that is on dirt as well with probably the same temp. range don't ya think?

How was the attendance earlier in the week when the All-Stars did race there?

Wet & Cold huh? What do they expect winter to be? That is a poor excuse, they ran modifieds and latemodels at east bay the past 2 weeks, making up rain days for both classes and of course being wet and cold then as well. Whoever Miracle motorsports is made the call and is a freaking coward. way to make the call for all the teams and fans moron. jackass move to screw over all these sprint car teams and yet make up racing for modifieds and late models the past 2 weeks there when it was wet and cold. Miracle motorsports needs to give up on motorsports and focus on bowling or knitting, something they can do inside without getting dirty and doing what real men do, race in the wet and cold and have a great time doing it. If the allstars or anyone is going to allow miracle motorsports to talk for them, they are in for it.

A promotor should have to show some kind of financial responsibility before booking a race date with any sanctioning group. Obviously, the promotor didn't have himself funded well enough to present his program. Promoting is a high risk business. You can't expect one night of racing to pay for the next one and expect not to get caught up in a bad situation. Suppose they raced and the promotor couldn't pay the purse? At least THAT didn't happen this time...but I kind of expect it to happen quite a bit this year and into the future at both sanctioned and non-sanctioned races if things don't change within the business of the sport.

Can't blame the All Stars management on this one. At least the series management tried to rekindle interest at a track where the glory days are long passed. Frankly, sprint car racing has no real local interest in Florida and hasn't for a long time. When will people learn they can't expect to live of travelers coming into the area for dirt track racing? It's not like the Florida local population supports it...and that's where you have to spark interest, first.

Another thing...why don't all of you people who are b******* about the reason for the cacellation get together and put up enough money to pay for the purse, tow money for the teams and pay the officials to run the race? How would YOU handle the situation? Quit second-guessing the All Stars and the track and tell us what you would do given the situation and how you'd make everybody happy? And as far as anyone griping about tow money (or lack thereof), teams have been conditioned to think they DESERVE something for just showing up. I blame the sanctioning groups for accommodating you. Who do you think pays for this? And you wonder why people just son't show up to watch you. People don't get payed just to show up for work, regardless of whether they accomplish anything or not...and you wonder why they don't come out to watch you do what you do. Think about it.

Wasn't it 45 degrees during the many race programs at Volusia? Oh well, chalk it up to Global Warming. Also, I see that some "experts" are blaming this cold weather and the snowfalls on global warming. A friend of mine is going to Vegas for the WoO show later this month. He told me he thought it would be a welcome change in termperature. I told him, it could possibly be one of the colder nights he's ever been at the races, that is if the wind is blowing into the stands. He said, naw, not in Vegas in late feb.

Unbelievable!! Why anyone would continue to follow this circus is beyond me. But then again, some people still get a kick out of the bearded lady.

For anyone who is not in florida right now...The last two nights have had frost warnings with 10-15mph winds. Its damp cold down here and yes it is cold. Anyone who is from florida is not going to go out in this cold. The promoter covered his ass and it is COLD here right now. I am from up north where it is 0 degrees right now and I am still saying it is cold here in florida.

Funny, the WoO owns volusia speedway also...That is all I have to say, they dont really have to worry about covering their ass too much

Doesn't hurt that Volusia is only a few miles from Daytona, either. All those race fans looking for something to do.

East Bay is on the other side of the state.

I don't understand why anybody even wants to make a comparison between the two...other than already having an agenda.

Will never attent another All Star show promoted by Miracle Motorsports. As a sprint car fan I drove 1100 miles for the USAC and All Star shows. They said the All Star show was cancelled because of cold and rain (BULL!). USAC endured the same cold and rain but they didn't cancel their show. I'll bet I won't have to worry about it next year because I doubt it if East Bay will rent the track to Miracle Motorsports. I feel bad for all the drivers and car owners who traveled from all over the country. Did Miracle Motorsports take into consideration how much money they lost from the last minute decision to cancel?

I'm in Plant City, yes it is cold out side. But I have been to races down here when it was colder. Still have a problem, with the show not going on tonite. I was there Thurs. great show. Other then TMAC deal. It was in the 40's then. Yes it maybe in the low 40's now. But would have been there.

No they didn't consider anything but themselves and greed, it is total bullcrap whether you are in Florida or Canada, there is no excuse to not race unless it is snowing or flooding. This is clearly a black eye for sprint car racing, at a place like florida where someone mentioned the need for promotion of the class there, this sure is not the way to do that. Now sprint car racing really will not attempt to return until 2011 and I look for it to make stops in ocala and volusia and be gone back north. The tradition at east bay left around the year they paid big money to celebrate the 25th? anniversary or some anniversary when the guy from new york ran the track. Nevertheless, if I were Miracle Motorsports, I would not show my face again in the sport of sprint car racing, that is a gutless thing to do to all those people. weather.com says 43 degress in gibsonton right now at 8:20pm, GET REAL.. It will be a MIRACLE if someone don't whip your @,, over this.
