If you're looking for car rules/tech rules for this race, try here: http://www.arklatexspeedway.net/Rules/2 ... rules.html

Ark-La-Tex and Boothill use the same rules. Boothill's website guy has been slow getting his stuff uploaded.

Here's some rules clarification from the promoter Kenny Crawford last fall before this race was rained out and rescheduled for March:

Quote:
The following rule adjustments are for the "King of the Hill" race and are only for Boothill. They should not be interpreted as rule changes coming for 2010 or for any other track. These are just a few of the things that have been discussed and I have made a call on one way or the other...I'm sure there will be more

1) Max cam lift that will be allowed .450 No tolerance above .450 all other cam shaft rules apply.

2) Interior decking allowed as long as I can see under it from drivers seat. so basically flat metal only, nothing to enclose the driver. any questions call me

3) nerf bars or rub rails will be allowed as long as they are againist the body and dont have any sharp edges

4) front bumpers that stick out past the frame horns should expect to be rounded or may be required to be cut off day of show. Each car will be looked at individually.

5) 2 bbl Holley 4412 only, must have 4412 in casting ( will be checked before race) no quadrajets with back barrels unhooked.

6) any car with minor rule infractions are subject to weight penalty. example.... if master cylinder is moved then you will have bolt on a piece of lead.

7) no ford 9" rearends in chevrolets. fords run fords, chevy runs chevy. metric cars may run 8.5" ring gear and pinion. No changes may be made to alter pinion angle.

There will be alot of cars from various tracks around the country not just from the Boothill area that will be competeing in this event I assure everyone that my crew and I will do everything possible to make this show as evenly matched as possible.

The only thing I can say across the board is if your car doesn't match our rules, then you'd better get some clarification before race time. I am available for discussion. End Quote

The PRE-entry deadline for this event is MONDAY (Feb 15th). If you plan on racing at this event give the promoter a call at 318-773-9159.

Here's the event format:

King of The Hill 10,000 qualifying format will use a double heat race format on Friday with qualifying races and last chance races on Saturday. All cars that make the $10,000 to win A-main feature event on Saturday will have run a minimum of 3 races (2 heats and a qualifier) to get there or a maximum of 4 races if they make it through a last chance race. The main event pays $500 to start. Entry fee is $150 unless you PRE-enter. Then it's $100.

QUALIFYING FORMAT:

Friday

-- All cars draw for heat race starting positions.

-- Each driver will run 2 heat races. No other Factory Stock races will be run on Friday night. (No dashes, no qualifiers, no features and no cars 'lock-in' on Friday night)

-- The second round of heats will use the same draw 'inverted' and will have one less heat race than the first round. (example: If there are 10 heats in the first round, then second round will have 9 heat races.) This will avoid having the same cars race against each other in both of their heat races. With this format, all cars have an equal shot at maximum passing points regardless of where they draw. Also, both rounds of heat race line-ups get posted before the first heat. You will know what heat and where you start in each heat before the races start. No waiting on Factory Stock line-ups Friday night.

-- SUPR-style passing point system in use. (same as USMTS-style & Texas Motor Speedway-style) First place gets 59 finishing points and each position after that decreases by 4 points. (1st-59 points, 2nd-55 points, 3rd-51 points, 4th-47 points, etc.) PLUS, an extra 1 and 1/2 points (1.5) are awarded for each position gained in the heat. (example: starting 4th and finishing 1st gains 3 positions and is 59 + [3 X 1.5] which equals 63.5 points.)

-- Factory Stocks will line-up SINGLE file in the staging lane for this show. The reason is, you don't get awarded passing points for passing a car that never took the green flag. The cars will be instructed when to go double file after they get on the race track. This gives the scorers a chance to verify the correct starting positions. Race receivers are required.

-- Points earned from the first heat will be added to the points earned from the second heat for a total 'score'. Saturday's qualifying races will line-up 'heads-up' based on that score. Driver with the most points starts pole of the first race. 2nd most points starts pole of the 2nd race, etc. Ties are broken by HIGHEST heat race finishing position. If heat race finishing positions are the same between two or more tied drivers, then the drivers who drew the lowest pills get the spots. NO ONE locks into Saturday's A-main on Friday night.

-- Official points results will be posted when the gates open on Saturday afternoon!!! Don't storm the tower on Friday because they will not be available until Saturday afternoon.

-- The easiest way to have an error is for car numbers to get confused. MAKE SURE YOUR NUMBER IS CLEARLY VISIBLE ON BOTH DOOR AND ROOF! There will be a lot of unfamiliar cars at this show so no duplicate numbers in the field and CLEARLY visible numbers becomes very important!

Saturday:

(No passing points earned in any race on Saturday night.)

-- ALL CARS WILL run a qualifying race first. Number of races and number of transfer spots from each qualifier depends on car count.

-- Last Chance races. The first non-qualifier from each qualifying race starts up front in the last chance races. Then, the highest passing point scores from Friday night who didn't transfer from the qualifying races line up 'heads-up' behind them. This Last Chance race format gives a good running car from Friday night another fair chance should they run into 'fluky' luck (flats, etc.) in the qualifying races.

-- Number of Last Chance races and number of transfers depends on car count. IF the car count is HIGH, all cars will NOT get to run a last chance race. Just the first non-qualifier from the earlier races and the highest Friday point scores only. IF the car count is LOW, then all cars MAY get to run a last chance race. The full advertised purse will be paid regardless of car count. If the car count is high and/or raffle ticket sales are high (the winner's car gets raffled off), more purse money WILL BE added to the show.

-- Saturday's A-main field is now set!

Wish it could have happened but it won't this year.

However if you have a car or built a car by these rules for this race, for the past five years, Ark-La-Tex Speedway has paid $5000 to win at the Cajun Classic on these rules and you didn't have to leave the car. That's almost the same purse-wise.

We'll have more details on what the 2010 version of what the Cajun Classic will look like much later in the year of course.
