(Bill W) January 30, 2010 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders had one of the most exciting seasons in their history in 2009, and currently, sixteen events headline the schedule in 2010. The series will begin its ninth season at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa on Saturday, April 17 and conclude the year with their Season Championship at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa on Saturday, September 25.

Following the season opener, the series takes to a new venue. Shepp's Speedway, located in Alexander, Illinois will play host on Friday, April 23. The bullring has two shows in 2010, with the other commencing on Saturday, June 12. Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois, is now promoted by former Sprint Invaders competitor, Bobby Hawks, and will see Sprint Invaders action on Friday, May 7, and Friday, June 25.

Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa will have two shows other than the Season Championship. Visits will take place on Wednesday, June 9, and during the Lee County Fair on Friday night, July 9. That event will be a part of a four-race Iowa County Fair run for the Sprint Invaders. On Saturday, July 3, the West Liberty Raceway (Muscatine County Fair) will open its ½ mile oval, on Thursday, July 8, there will be a return to Bloomfield Speedway (Davis County), and after the event at LCS, the series heads to the Cedar County Raceway bullring in Tipton, Iowa on Thursday, July 15. The Farley (IA) Speedway will play host to the Sprint Invaders for the second consecutive year as part of the Yankee Dirt Track Classic on Friday, September 17.

The 2009 point race came down to the final night, when Bobby Mincer of Burlington, Iowa edged out veterans Ryan Jamison and Matt Rogerson for the title. It was the second in his career. Ideal Ready Mix will again be the title sponsor of the series, marking the fifth consecutive year they have been the primary sponsor of the series based in Southeast Iowa/Central Illinois.

No Quincy this year? I thought those shows were good and the crowd looked good. Which side bailed out? Also, is Jacksonville only going to run 360s on those nights and not their 410s?
