There has been some questions and concerns regarding the required Dirtcar membership of $125 in order to participate in a WoO race this year. I have spoken to Anna Walker who is in charge of the membership division several times and this is the latest I have.
The $125 one time membership fee is a one time per year renewable membership of $125, not a one time.
The $500,000 medical insurance coverage, should you be in an accident on the track during one of the WoO races, is for only a WoO race. At Dirtcar sanctioned sprint car races only, the medical insurance coverage is $50,000. In California the tracks that belong to Dirtcar are Antioch, Bakersfield, Chowchilla, Kingspeedway, Marysville, Santa Maria. Tracks that belong where GSC will hold races out of California are Cottage Grove, Skagit, Southern Oregon and Willamette. I asked this morning if those tracks listed on their website were current and I was told yes. If those races are not Dirtcar sanctioned races then the insurance/membership is not valid for that race. You have to run an WoO or Dirtcar sanctioned race for the membership to be effective. I don't know if any of our GSC series races will be Dirtcar sanctioned, I guess the tracks and or GSC personnel will have to let us know.
I am waiting to hear from Steve Beitler if Dirt Cup this year will be a sanctioned race or not.
You can give Anna Walker a call at 704-707-0211, she is more than willing to answer any questions or concerns regarding the membership.
