That is great news being a fan (double file restarts). That should bring some excitement to the races. I always hated the pill draw. .... lineup in the dash by qualfying time makes much more sence.
From what the speedtv article states, the "b" main has been eliminated as well. Guess that means if you have a problem in your heat you are now "done".
Double File Restarts could be OK, but I see a lot more torn up equipment than better racing in our future (it will take that much longer on restarts to catch the tail end fo the field when the real racing begins).
No problem here with lining up the dash by time (just wish there was a chance of an invert to keep it exciting for the fans. Basically being quick-time will make you start in row 2 of your heat, on the front row of the dash, and provided you don't let anyone pass you, on the front of hte feature. wow, that sounds exciting to me as a fan, not...
Elimination of the "B" main sounds like a bad idea to me. Less racing for the fans, but ticket prices remain the same (or in some instances increased). I just don't understnad the logic behind that one...
I can see this clause causing some problems this year...."However, Outlaws officials will reserve the right to revert to single-file restarts as necessary to maintain a safe environment for participants."
I don't think this is the B main. I think that this is the race to get into the heat races. I have only seen it once. They had 48+ cars, so they had more cars than spots in the heats race. Thus, they had the extremely slow cars race in a race just to be able to race in the heat race.

Let me clear some of this up.
The last chance race was the "d-main". It is now eliminated. They only ran a D when they have over 48 cars. If there are enough cars they will increase to 5 heats. With the new format everyone will get to run a heat race.
The dash will have an inversion based on a dice roll (4,6,or 8). When there a 5 heats there will be 12 cars in the dash (top 2 from each heat + next two fastest times).
So, does that mean a driver still has to finish in the top two in a heat, and then they'll line up based on time? Then the next two fastest guys get in then? That may work alright.
Double-file restarts are ok in the WoO late model series, after all, they have fenders and with the leader up front by himself, but double-file restarts in open wheel racing, definitely will be tearing up equipment. Guys getting very aggressive, thinking they can get by the car on the inside, kamakaze-type moves, etc. I like it, but car owners maybe not so much.
Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.
i want to know about the last one. Starting all 3 features. I'm sorry but that seems like a big F U to the teams coming back to the road and the rookies and i'm guessing it doesn't apply to the #7 since they weren't on the road last year and Craig missed a few races? But all that matters is the NASCAR teams will make the features and they won't have to burn up Provisionals. If you can't race your way in tough sh*t.
I would like to see a big (maybe complete) inversion in the heat races if there isn't going to be any kind of inversion in the dash. If not, you could not see a lot of clean sweeps this year by the 15, 14, or 9.

Doesn't every sprint car race in the world start double file? the drivers just need to act like the professionals that they are, and I don't forsee any problems.

so theres only going to be qualifing, heats, dash, and the A feature in a nights event?
From what I understand there will still be a B main and C when needed - what was eliminated is the D main or non-qualifiers race (which was basically a "slow" heat) consisting of qualifiers 49+ which placed the top four at the tail of a heat. Now they will run 5 heats when necessary.
I never cared for the double file restarts in the Late Models. It take a couple of extra laps while some official goes out on the track and points high and low to the cars as they go past so they know where to line up. That takes a couple extra laps on every caution. Just my opinion but they do that for all the big Late Model shows and I never cared for it.

These guys will be wearing raceivers.
I'm talking a big $50,000 to win Late Model race referred to as one of the crown jewel events of the sport with drivers wearing raceivers. The still circle the track a couple extra times. The leader goes past and the official points hi, lo, hi, lo as the cars go past. Trust me, I've seen them line up for double file restarts in big races too many times to count. It adds laps under caution.
Like some of the old timers around here, I grew up at tracks watching side by side restarts and I'm a life long fan of them. It gives fast cars in the back a better opportunity to get to the front, especially on half mile tracks where traffic seldom comes into play.
I go to the race track to see passing, not freight trains. If the WoO's are making changes for the fans, I'd like to see them go a step further and move the fast cars a little further back to start the feature as well. As far as the dash… I don't have any memories of an amazing dash, except mine to the bathroom.
