We are not done fighting for our Track, I know information is slow in coming, but the way allot of you have been acting and POSTING on this site is certainly not helping our cause. The City leaders are constantly monitoring this Web Site searching for information they can use against us.

Their main goal is to create desertion among the troops. By them taking down some signage and pulling out some electrical fuses, they want us to think we are beaten, and want us to give up our cause.

Putting adverse POST on this Web Site is the same as telling the Enemy, "When you are going to attack and your strategies" , or that you have given up. If you tell the enemy your strategies, they will be prepared for you.

It's the same as Racing....You don't tell your competitor your set-up, at least not until after you have won.

Guess what I'm saying is keep your mouth shut and your negative thoughts to yourself. If you want your kids to grow-up taking Steroids playing Basketball, Baseball, or Football and become a nuisance to society then by all means do what you feel is best for your family.

If you want to raise a good wholesome God fearing child that has values and the respect of others, bring him or her to the Race Track.

Allen, I think the world of you and I appreciate what you and the group are trying to do. And like I said when this whole thing got started I will be glad to help in anyway that I can. But there is more than one opinion to everything and the last time I looked this forum is for all to voice their own opinions. I do agree some get on here and start bashing in away that is completely out of line, and it might hurt the cause at hand. But for you or anybody else trying to police what people are trying to say and how to voice their own opinions is somewhat out of line as well JMO.

If SFS opens again I will be one of the first people in line to pay my way in, if it don't reopen WE all will have to go and participate somewhere else. My purpose for the My 2 Cents thing was nothing more than getting the word out to the public how our city government has stuck it to the racing community. So people can think about how they might vote in the next election, or get some other influential people on board.

You have been very professional in the way you have dealt with this issue.

I have been rather bold and out there in some ways, and am wondering if I may be too heavy on my views. I don't know.

No offense, but you getting on here and preaching to everyone is kind of hypocritical. You stir up more crap and do more drunk posting than Neighbors(sorry to bring you into this you have been a good boy lately). If someone wants to post something negative, that is their choice. That is like one of the drivers at the speedway threatening Deathredge that they will all protest his sale next year if he holds it at the Fairgrounds. That is real intelligent.

Hey David I agree and disagree. There is alot of intoxacated words spoken here and sometimes it takes that to say what you feel. And I agree that people want to call in a complaint it there right to do it if they live in OKC. But I disagree that any supporting of the fairgrounds and you can count me out weater we reopen the track or not. It ends up in their pocket and I wont do that. I would rather send my wife to Eureka Springs instead of the Affaiar of the Heart and go to the Carnival at Shawnee rather than attend the Fair, buy my RV's, guns and boats on line, go to Dallas or KS to their trade shows... But what stratagey are we givin away Unk {you dont have to reply}? Are secrets being kept from the people that may not result in a post, if known? I make my comments here and to the ORA but they dont sway public opinion. But I think I had a viable solution and either greed or dislike for me is why it was not considered. If we want that track reopened we have to get the electrical fixed. what is the answer to that, keep trying to make the ones shutting down do it, they wont.

But I will conseed this to Chuck, If we want any future generousity out of them we do need to be more cordual. But they probably wont give any race track the time of day in the future. So if the powers to be are listening you have seen what commin if you take racin out of OKC!

I hate to rain on anyone's parade but im 99.9% sure that racing at sfs in 2010 is NOT going to happen. Anyone that was at the court case heard the lady representing the city say that even if the fair board and Lanny work something out, they own the facility and are shutting it down for "safety" reasons. We need to stop thinking about the here and now and start thinking about the future of dirt track racing in OKC. To continue dirt racing here a track must be built. There are about a hundred different rumors circulating and who knows if any of them are true. Like the judge said though, you catch more flies with honey..... We need to stop trying to piss off the city and try like hell to get them to work with someone on a new facility. There are investors out there willing to help build a track. If we completely hack off the city we rule out any and all chance of having racing in OKC again! Yes they murdered the fairgrounds, but at some point we have to look towards the future and what is going to have to be done to save racing in our community!

I agree the fairgrounds will not get another cent of my money.

If there are people smart enough to NOT run for President, then there are investors smart enough to NOT to build a race track under OKC rule.

That's 55+ years of blood sweat and tears out there. You deserve a better chance to save it than this.

and no, I cannot bring myself to kiss their ass.

Good thinking, Springer. Someone with deep pockets would be nice, but the secret, I think, is to find a big time sponsor, like Lucas Oil, to pay the owner or promoter for use of their name. Ford Center, Cox, etc. I want to be optomistic about the Fairgrounds, but its looking more and more like a lost cause.

Do any of you posters know what a spell checker is? I have to spend my time reading and rereading your posts in order to understand what you are trying to say. If the people downtown DO read this post, they are probably laughing at our grammatical efforts instead of what the meaning is in your post. Please, please take more time or consult someone to proof read before you post.

Where does the money go that is raised by the Save the Fairgrounds LLC.? I mean if we lose an appeal, of course.

David Smith, what was the meaning in your post about I=40 and Cimmaron Road? Is there a possibility of a track being built in that area?

If we do lose the speedway, I want to thank all you people who have made my life fun at the track for the last 37 years, good times, bad times but nothing could have been better than spending time with my family and racing family. Thanks again,

TMAC

You guys are beating a dead horse. Everyone needs to pray and hope for a better deal down the road. I truly hope you guys get help from some people to build a better speedway somewhere. State Fair Speedway is history though so give the poor horse a break and quit beating it!

Tmac all the money that is raised by the LLC will go to a racing charity if there is absolutely no chance of winning. However, we are not giving up any time soon. We do not have the words no chance in our vocabulary.

There is not going to be an appeal. Legally, there is not much that is appealable about the decision. On appeal, the standard of review is to give great deference to the trial court on questions of facts. The only reason why the appellate court would address a question of fact is if there was a clear error in the trial court. What the appellate court looks at is questions of substantive law that should be applied to the court case. And if the trial court used and applied the right law, then the appellate court will give deference to the trial court's reasoning. It is much like the instant replay review in football, the booth will only overturn a ruling on the field if it is clear that there was an error.

Bobby Springer is right, there is almost no chance of State Fair Speedway opening up this season or ever again. In the short run, we as individuals will have to do what we have to to survive. It is time to find an investor that is willing to put up the money to build us a new track, perhaps outside of the Oklahoma City limits, since it is obvious that we are not welcome there.

Maybe some of you have taken my post in the wrong light. The intent was to create awareness and to inform people that they are being monitored. My past post should have or do not have anything to do with this cause.

Their are allot of you out there that are just sitting on your ass and not standing up for your rights. That makes us the loosers.

There's no way I will give up. As long as the grandstands are there we need to keep fighting it even if there is no races at SFS this season.

Ha Ha.......Thanks Peanut. I do like to give my opinion on here every now and again. I started out with the closing thinking It was a change for the better. However I then began to realise I was just being selfish because I don't like the current track a sfs. I know it means alot to many.....many......people I consider friends and even some of my family.

Turn out the lights, the parties over. Start putting some thought on were you are going to race at this year.
