It's still early but I've heard nothing as to what local teams intend to race the Outlaws at Tulare. Have any of you seen or heard any confirmations for the WoO show set for March 5th & 6th at Thunderbowl Raceway?

Between the Goodyear tire rule, and the WoO requiring all drivers to purchase memberships, you may see fewer CA. cars that you'd normally get at Tulare.....this will be interesting,,,,,,

Good thing they supposedly have 16 travelers because they will need every single one of them to tow here in order to get anywhere near 25 cars for that show. And they will be lucky to get that. Of course the ark may have sailed by then and it won't make any difference after all :-).

Here's a list that I think will be there other than the regulars...
Tommy Tarlton, Peter Murphy, Jon Allard, Roger Crockett, Evan Suggs, Kyle Larson, BK, Bud, & Zach Zimmerly.
Short list...

Sure would like to know. I'd love to see BK there but I wouldn't bet on it.

We'd planned to run both these shows prior to knowing about the membership and the change in the Mini and I assume we still will..
Buzz I paid for the membership already, would you like to help us with a couple of Goodyears?

The chico thing really screwed up the Tulare car count. However, I'm not sure what the big deal is???? The WoO membership is only $125 and you will have to pay for it at the Gold Cup ... so why not pay for it now and get out of the way (+ half million dollars in insurance). The goodyears ... well you have to buy tires for the race anyway ... why does it matter if they are goodyear or hoosier????? Not sure what the issue is here????
If you want to race againist the best sprint car drivers in the world, you will be at Tulare ......if you want be a "big fish in a small pond", you will stay home and focus on the local show - Mini Gold Cup.

I just noticed on Kyle Larson's website that he's confirmed in the Kaeding Performance 99 for 2010 and will be racing in the GSC along with other select west coast events. They list the first race on the schedule as the Mini Gold Cup. I guess that means they don't have plans for the WoO show at Tulare. I hope somebody puts in him in a car for Tulare. He gets better against them everytime they come out west.

I don't know if it has been stated yet on here, if it has i have not seen it, but this 125 Dollar Membership fee is it a one time fee or everytime you race with the outlaws? I don't race and i don't know exactly know forsure what it takes to fund a season i know its alot, but if it is a one time fee i dont see what the big deal is

i think the big issue with the woo membership is paying it at the begining of the season when you have to pay for your gsc, cival war and what other membership the racers plan on running. the gold cup at the end of the may be easier on the budget.

Teams that are gonna run any of the series above, I highly doubt that a $125 fee will break their budget. As far as tires go I can see a debate there. Seriously though if you wanna run with the best, fastest and biggest sprintcar series on Earth, you'll buy some tires and if you don't stay home.
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

I heard of 3 other teams that won't be at Tulare due to the tire and membership thing. None of these guys want to spent 1500+ on tires that they won't use again until sept...........

I'm hoping the Goodyears will be approximately the same as the Hoosiers but you are looking at a starting price of $167 plus a tire for fronts and $200 plus a tire for rears plus tax and depending where you buy your tires a separate freight charge. Thats just for one set. Factor in we are talking 2 nights of racing and 1 set isn't all you will be buying. You will need more rears than that to have stagger options not to mention burning them up depending on the track conditions. One thing to consider Goodyear tire wise is that Steve Beitler at Skagit has signed a contract with Goodyear and anyone running Dirt Cup will need Goodyears there, and thats 3 nights of racing.
As far as the $125 membership to run with the WoO, anyone planning to run Gold Cup will have to buy the membership in September. This way if you run Tulare those 2 nights you will at least get 4 nights for the $125, of course you have to add entry and pit fees etc. Any way you look at it racing is one huge expense!

From the World Of Outlaw Website http://www.worldofoutlaws.com/sprint/News/2009/December/120709_SP_Membership.aspx In 2010 all drivers in World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events will be required to purchase a DIRTcar Membership for a one-time fee of $125, which will guarantee them all of the benefits of being a DIRTcar Member, including the expanded $500,000 Participant Accident Coverage.
All crew members are also encouraged to sign up to become a DIRTcar Member for a one-time fee of $80, which will entitle them to the $500,000 Participant Accident Coverage as well.
I assuming the Accident Coverage will also cover you at other track for the 2010 racing season when not participating with the World of Outlaws? Can someone clarify this?
And if it does then it would be worth the $125 spent at the beginning of the season.

This is a little misleading and confusing but as explained to me and from what I have read you are covered for the insurance only when racing in a WoO series race and at any race you participate in that is sanctioned by DIRTcar. I know on DIRTcar's website they list the following tracks as belonging to DIRTcar in California: Antioch, Bakersfield Speedway, Chowchilla, KingsSpeedway, Marysville, Santa Maria, others that I know GSC will be racing at this summer outside of California are Skagit, Southern Oregon and Willamette. Now I am not sure if you are covered at those tracks if it's a GSC sanctioned race since GSC isn't affiliated with DIRTcar! I am thinking yes, for Skagit at DirtCup if in fact the listings on DIRTcar's website are current and correct. I will try and find out a little more on this matter as soon as possible.
