TYLER WALKER RETURNS TO CENTRAL PA SPRINT CAR RACING
Reigning ‘King of California’ to Drive Heffner Racing Enterprises #27
Hellertown, PA (January 13, 2010)…Tyler Walker, 2009 Golden State Challenge
Series King of California, has been named lead driver of Heffner Racing
Enterprise’s Lelands.com-sponsored #27 car for 2010. The former World of Outlaws
Gumout Series champion’s first race as a member of the PA Posse will be the
Icebreaker 30, Lincoln Speedway’s season opener, on Saturday, February 27 at 2
p.m.
"I'm grateful to Mike Heffner for the opportunity and cant wait to work with
Dennis Koehler, a long time friend and someone I have a great deal of respect
for,” says Walker. “I really miss the big and fast tracks and look forward to
being back in a more competitive series. I can’t wait to join the PA Posse and
see the longtime fans I have in Pennsylvania. They’re the best fans in the
country!”
Walker, nicknamed ‘T-Dub’, replaces veteran sprint car driver Sean Michael,
who will spend much of the coming season serving as crew chief for his brother,
URC champion Curt Michael. Still recuperating from a shattered knee, Sean will
drive select races for Heffner Racing next season, providing they don’t conflict
with the #5G schedule.
Heffner Racing Enterprises’ owner Mike Heffner is excited about adding
Walker, known for his thrilling, high energy driving style, to the team. Only
entering its second full season, Heffner Racing has already worked with some of
the best drivers in sprint car racing. After a devastating crash last May
sidelined Sean for the remainder of the season, Sprint Car Hall of Famer Keith
Kauffman filled the seat, securing the team’s first win.
“Every new team dreams of winning races, and we’re no different. Making it to
victory lane last year was one of the happiest days of my life—an indescribable
feeling. I believe Tyler can get us there again. And again and again. He’s
enthusiastic, aggressive and wants to win as much as we do,” says Heffner.
In addition to being 2009’s Golden State Challenge Series King of California
(during which time he broke the single season record for wins in the series),
T-Dub was also named USAC Silver Crown Series Most Improved Driver in 2004 and
World of Outlaws Gumout Series champion in 2002 when he won sixteen races during
the season.
Walker is credited with originating the celebratory backflip off his racecar,
his signature victory lane move, which has since been copied by several other
drivers
“I like to have fun on and off the track and I expect Heffner Racing and I to
have a great time this season,” concludes Walker.

Just when I thought Tyler Walker had grown up and should be proud of what he did this past year, he makes a comment like he did....

Ok I was a fan of Tyler's while he was racing here the last few years but after reading what he said about racing in California...“I really miss the big and fast tracks and look forward to being back in a more competitive series. I can’t wait to join the PA Posse and see the longtime fans I have in Pennsylvania. They’re the best fans in the country!" I have lost respect for him!
I just hate when a driver bad mouths a place they used to race and bad mouths the fans that supported him! It sure seemed like he had fun racing in California, had plenty of competiton racing with our talented drivers, enjoyed racing the bullrings, and had plenty of fans cheering him on every race! Both CA and PA have great racing and fans that support their racers! Enough said!
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

I don't think he was bad mouthing.. All he said is i really missed the big and fast tracks, face it we only have one big one out here that only holds like 2 or 3 local winged shows a year..As for PA it probably is a more competitive series from top to bottom plus they run alot more races back there.. Tyler's equipment and crew last year were top notch, maybe the best car in the series. If his equipment back there is as good as last years car that he drove here he will do ok.. We have had drivers from back there who have run with the posse and Knoxville series come here and run with GSC or Civil War on occasion that at times did not set the world on fire but don't forget they were at unfamiliar tracks and driving local CA cars so i can't make a comparison.. I would not put to much in a statement that was more PR for his new endeavour rather than a blasting of the fans and others out here, don't forget that is where he will be selling apparel next year. You have been to races in PA so you know more about the racing and drivers back there compared to here than i do..

Yeah, the drug reference is not really necessary. He's certainly paid for that enough via losing the NAPCAR opportunity. Who among us has never had a second chance - I know I have.
Personally, I've never been a fan of Tyler because of his on-track antics and frankly I just don't like his style- anyone remember post race comments at the trophy cup? In my mind, he was bad-mouthing NorCal and I am not at all surprised considering the source. I won't miss him at all.
Having said ALL THAT... The man is a helluva talented driver and I'll bet he'll do real well in PA.
