Is it just me or is Jon Kantor stabbing Chad Kemenah thru the back by having a car at the Chili Bowl and having Crawford drive it. The car is for Hard 8 Racing and sponsored by Kantor Oil Company. I know the unexpected folding of Hard 8 Racing after Kemenah won at Manzanita was awhile ago and in racing you have to move past stuff and get over it but with the good relationship that Kemenah and Kantor had don't you think Kantor would at least have Kemenah drive his car at the Bowl? Or does Kemenah have a different ride?
Seems like when Kantor said he was "ceasing the racing operations immediately" after Manzanita was definitely not true. Obviously he doesn't have all the equipment to just get back out on the road again but he sure didn't plan to leave the sport permanently since he still has the Chili Bowl car from last year that Kemenah drove.

I think the car had been for sale on the hoseheads classifieds for the last few months. I guess if it doesnt sell and you have it, you might as well race it.

I'll bet that Chad thinks almost nothing of Jon Kantor entering a car at the Chili Bowl; any owner can do what he wants to do. If he pulls his team off of the WoO tour, well, Chad was a driver...no more, no less.
Why does some of this stuff bother folks so much - especially when it's none of their business? Maybe Crawford showed up with some sponsors to help Jon run the bowl.........

Ya just because he pulled out of the World of Outlaws doesn't mean he can't ever race again. I guarantee you it costs a whole less lot to run the Chili Bowl than it does to run a full season with the Outlaws. Like sprinter25 said, maybe Crawford showed up with sponsors to help Jon run the Chili Bowl or vise versa. The point is racing is in Kantor's blood and when it is you can't stay away from the sport. It's just the Chili Bowl. It's not like he is running the full length schedule with the Outlaws again.
I'd rather be in Knoxville.

It would suck for Chad but it would be great if Kantor oil had a car on the road again. Chad has landed on his feet and he is fine now. and if i remember right there was an outlaw at ironman 55 that was sponsored by Kantor Oil. So they didn't leave completely.

He dropped off the tour... is that illegal or something????????? The timing was odd but none of us were directly impacted by it. Chad is the one we should support wherever possible and thank Kantor for spending the $$$ that he did spend.
It's not difficult to understand a local car owner running the Chili Bowl. Cost of running a local race vs. the WoO tour is ... DIFFERENT, to say the least.
It would be nice to see Kemenah running for Kantor in some respects... but Chad may not want to. He may not even have a grudge against Kantor... that is pure message board speculation.
Look at the facts: is Kantor the first car owner to stop running the most expensive series in sprint racing? No. If you drop off the WoO tour.. .are you banned from loving racing and owning cars for the future? No.

Chad was listing Kantor Oil as one of the sponsors on the 63 car toward the end of the 2009 season.

Did it ever dawn on any of you that maybe Chad just simply turned down the Hard Eight ride at the Chili Bowl. Its really none of anybody's business IMO!

Dude Fan you should do your homework before you speak....Mr Gibson notes the Kantor sponsorship on the 63 last year and if you look at the Kantor Chili Bowl entry you will see sponsorship help from Hampshire racing engines. Hampshire of course is Kemenah's father-in-law...DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of the posts started on here blow my mind. Who cares what John Kantor does, I certainly don't.

Just a wild guess but I bet the budget to tow a midget to the Chili Bowl is slightly less than a full time WoO effort.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?
