My one and only trip to Daytona (the year Geoff Bodine won it many, many years ago), my friend and I attended races at both New Smyrna and Volusia. I won't say it was cold; however, in an act of desperation at New Smyrna I went out to the rental car, unsnapped the trunk liner, and took it back in with me to use as insulation from the cold. Hope you have a warm reception at Volusia.
As for being cold, I attended a (then) Busch race at Bristol a few years ago during which the race was red flagged because of snow falling! Of course being an avid race fan, I felt compelled to sit and shiver through all 300 laps of the race instead of being smart and heading back to a warm house.
