We had to change the rally location due to the fact the city told the fairgrounds were both private and public. The city said when events were going on the fairgrounds were public however when nothing was going then it was private.
The new location is at Forest Building Supplies, which is located across the street from the grandstands on May Ave. Everything else stays the same.

in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he
stands at times of challenge and controversy."

I guess if it was so called cut and dried and a done deal they would not have cared.
The parking lot at Forest Building Supplies across the street is large enough to do what we need to do.

The point of the meeting is were not giving up! It maybe to late but the track is still there. So tell it's gone were still going to fight for it.

It really boils down to awareness. The group heading this effort wants to get the message out to anyone that will listen that the City, the Council and the Fair Board have not been up front and honest about their reasons to close the speedway. Numerous reasons have been offered but credibility and facts have not been presented to justify their actions. The cost of ADA compliance and electrical safety concerns are at the forefront but actual estimate documents have not been presented to substantiate their claims. There is an existing contract with the promoter for the year 2010 that should be honoured but it seems the city has no honor. Hopefully the rally will bring out the news media and at least we can express to them the racers side of the issue. A large group of supporters and the area news media on our side can make a big difference. The fairgrounds belongs to the citizens of OKC, not the Mayor, Councelors, Fair Board and special interest concerns and the OWNERS need to be made aware of fact.

I agree but it is just another scare tactic, by the city and the mayor. They thought it would be easy and that we would give up when their lies were all over the media. They have been dishing out figures out of the sky and nothing to back it up with.
Win or not they will know we were there!!!!! And alot of things are working in our favor.
Freedom of speech and they don't want us to voice ours it looks like good media coverage is in the near future.
It is not over until the fat man sings and nobodys wants to hear me sing. ......

This is just another example of the fact that the city does not want us to race at the
fair grounds. As a member of the ORA I would love to say that all of us need to
not support any function that the City or the fair grounds has this their location! This would
include all horse shows, boat and camping shows, gun shows anything that the fair grounds
supports, to include the state fair that happens in September. In fact we as a group should picket all
events that happen at the fair grounds! This is our right. As a separate individual we will not survive
but as a group we can survive and even grow in support!.

From what I have been told there should be a pretty good count from Enid that shows up for the rally.

We would love to see a great showing from everywhere. We have the motels in place for anyone from out of town that would like to show up. They are not in Okc and they are a high quality chain.
I know we were told by a group of people from Wichita that they were coming down.
