Anything but demo derbies.
It was a sad sight when the biggest crowd & loudest crowd noise was for that crap this past season.

mjm let me ask you would you want to see that as a fair event or somthing like a roll over contest say during inermission.

I have only lived in OK for 2 1/2 years, so I have never seen a race on the 1/2 mile. Also, the only 410 sprint car race I have ever seen was when I was 7 so I can't remember it very well anyway(the only sprint cars we had where I am from were mini sprints.) With that said I would love to see a 410 show on the 1/2 mile or a WoO LM or Lucas Oil Late Model show. I went to one of each last year and they were the best shows I have ever seen. It would be cool to watch them next year and not have to drive 6-8 hours one way.

Sticking with mixing the grandstand with horses. How about a good ol' fashioned outside rodeo or some equestrian events where the horse and riders jump the hurdles?

Bring the half mile back to life and run the ASCS national tour on there.
One, just one night or weekend of WoO sprints sanctioned by Shane Carson and MARCAR.
Remember when the NCRA late models and NCRA modifieds were ALWAYS a part of the Oklahoma State Fair? One last time please.
Pick a night later in the season for nastalgia night at the fairgrounds. Whatever divisions you run just have the nastalgia cars sitting out in front of the grandstands, with the veterans if possible. Roll back admission prices and concession prices to that of the 60's and 70's.

I dont mean to critisize but I don't really understand the thought behind wanting horse shows, monster trucks, tractor pulls, motorcross, and all that other stuff that has been suggested. A fare well show at a dirt track in my opinion should involve, oh I don't know, dirt track racing! All those other things have their place but I don't understand them as a fare well show for a dirt track.

I myself think we all need to get something going. We all can set with a key board and keep suggesting everything under the sun. I know there are some good people working on our fight to save the track, but we are running out of time. Somebody needs to get a meeting together so we all can set down and come up with a plan. Hell the ORA meeting is not until Jan 20 we are wasting time, when is the next city council meeting? If just a select few can only talk so what if we show up in large numbers at least they will know that we ALL are serious not just a small few that showed up at the meeting.
Thanks for your hard work Eric.

Have you guys ever seen what they call "chain races" where two cars are chained together as a team and race other two car teams? The first car is used for power and the second is used only for braking.
How about School Bus Races where old buses race each other, or Trailer Races, where pickup trucks race each other pulling a boat and trailer or small house trailer behind them?
These are big in other venues and I've seen them on ESPN..

Its not the people whom participate with the livestock shows, some of those folks support racing as well. Its the sanctioning bodies of these events that have paired with the city that want to squeeze the racers out of existance. The largest draws @ sfs have in the past been WoO,AMA flat-track and motoX.Since they cut the half mile track down some of those wont come back. You might need to find events that will be sanctioned by big names such as ASCS,WoO,NCRA,USAC,CRA to name a few.The track needs the half mile back.
