The mayor is 'only' a man, he is not God. Never has been, never will be. He shaves, he poops etc.

He is surrounded by other parties that wish to profit money/power/position. Cornetts job is to take the public abuse in times like these. He is an absorption for other interested parties that wish to profit.

They will scatter like scared rats when the power of YOUR public opinion is STRONGER than the power of their greed. They are working under the assumption that we are sleepy and lazy.

That is why the mayor is moving so fast.

1. ADA lawsuit

2. put the rumor that 2012 is the last year.

3. win MAPS3

4. Scare the promoter away with a scary expense.

5 go through the media and form public opinion that the speedway is unsafe and costs way too much.

-Public opinion can surround you, and eventually FORM your own opinion-

There will probably be more, but the principle issue is that you were lied to by your officials on an astounding level. This is not the first time, nor will it be the last.

Public opinion is as powerful; as the vote itself, if not even more powerful. Keep plugging.

I ask that somebody or a group of you people keep these city council members names handy and when it comes time for election, you OKC residents vote for the other person and get these people out of office. This includes that Mayor.

Besides what has happened with SFS I thank the may has done a great job from getting us the Thunder to what the downtown looks like now. Okc is becoming one of the best major city's around. Just wish the speedway did'nt have to go. But we can'nt put all the blame on him. The fair board sure has not lifted a finger to help in anyway.

You're exactly right. Don't blame OKC's elected leaders. Blame the fairboard.

If the fairboard is not on the race tracks side that makes everything so much easier for the track to be tore down. In my opion they should get most of the blame.

Don't get mad. It's just are opion. If I remember right it was a guy from the sfs fairboard that was on the news saying it's over and the track had been warned for a couple years. If your own fairboard is not behind there own track it says alot. I hate to admit it but it is over 2009 was it, no more racing there.
