I am a fan of Tony Stewart but as for his Outlaws program I think it is a joke. He put a championship team together when he first got into the series, but then turned everything over to Mr. Carr and let Danny go and it has turned to SH!!. We all just kept on blaming the driver. So what does he do he goes out and buys Shatz and now the King. I know he tried to hire Meyers, Stevie, Sides, and a few other but they all turned him down. So now he goes in a gets Steve to drive and I think his quote was " we want to get someone that has the same package as Donny" when they let Kraig go. Hope this makes Steve competitive and not make him look like Darrel Waltrip!!!!!!!!!! But as for TSR I think they are a JOKE. Kasey Kahne Racing builds winners doesn't buy them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And now i am goona have to change my screen name!!!!!!!! LOL

The devil himself couldn't make Steve Kinser a shmuck like DW.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

No Artist I'm saying that KKR has worked on things over the years and built a team not go out and buy a team out and make it theirs.

This team i do not believe will win a championship! They may win five to seven races give or take but that is it. I question whether or not steve would like or be willing to switch to a j & j with ron shaver motors. Make me wonder what type of season steve would have racing with j and j with shaver motors. It will make for an interesting season.

Hey Nance i'm almost a 100% sure that Steve will have Maxim cars and Kinser engines and Scott Gerkin as crew chief. That is why I had to laugh at TSR statement when releasing Kraig.

That would make senses considering what they have done using maxim with scott`s motors. But as far as steve winning another championship i think he may have won his last one a few year back but who knows he could surprise me!

so what exactly are you saying stewarts not allowed to hire an established driver?? I guess according to your rant then chilldress bought a champioship when he hired earnhardt,, hell gibbs and hass bought championships when they hired stewart,,, so I guess nobody can hire a champion without being raked over the coals on message boards?? this may be the most insane post I've ever read

I don't know about that, there's a some truth in there. I mean, I'm glad that the King has a ride next season where he won't have to worry about finances or anything of the sort because the Q deal was about up, but Tony did buy Donny's team, there is no way to dispute that. That 20 car has been junk for years now and instead of building a team ground up and finding a new driver, he bought the defending champion and changed the paint scheme. You can't argue that. I'm just glad that KKR gave Darrah a chance, that was something that the sport needed. A new young guy out competing ever night in a good ride. Tony buying Donny's ride? Good for him, but not real good for the rest. I just hope that Steve can get that lemon of 20 turned around, and it starts by changing it to the 11.

What Steve did makes perfect sense to me. One of the best, if not THE best, drivers to ever strap into a sprint car in the twighlight of his illustrious career signing up to drive for probably the best owner currently in racing. All while letting someone else pay the bills for a change, diverting that distraction from himself. Especially figuring the current economy into the equation. Now he can focus 100% on driving the car instead of ownership responsibilities.
And don't think for a second that Steve's decision wasn't swayed by looking out for Kraig's future either. To make sure he had a good ride and potential to keep him in good equipment after he ended up rideless.
Also, for anyone questioning or worrying about Kraig's 'rookie' crew chief, let's not forget that he will have one of the game's best wrenches (Gerkin) at his disposal for any advice that he may need.

If a car owner hiring the defending champ and all-time greatest driver in the sport offends you.... WOW!!!!!!!!!
The Kraig firing/Steve hiring could have been handled better IMO. Big time. Seems now like it was 2 unrelated events.
If you changed nothing on a car or team other than who ultimately pays the bills... you could call it buying a championship if the glass is half empty in your eyes.
If the glass is half full... the car owner is paying the bills and giving back to a sport like no other Nascar star is doing or has done in the history of the sport.
All in your perception.

I'm trying to figure out how Tony Stewart scarfing up two top five premier teams that were/are fully capable of funding, running, and excelling in the sport of sprint car racing on their own, would be good for the sport.
Seems if he was really trying to help he would start with those who are truly underfunded and in need of assistance. Is that where JZ fit in?
But it's his money, he's definitely King Poop of the sport in the owners dept, and the King Steve Kinser will always be the King of Drivers no matter where he's at or what happens from here on out. Doesn't mean I agree with this move and can someone tell me where I can buy a Jason Sides and Jason Meyers t-shirt?

Are you sure all these drivers turned Tony down, or did Tony turn them down??? From what I have heard, not sure it all took place like you think!!! Lets face a few facts, Steve took this ride for a good reason. Getting sponsorship right now is not an ez thing to do. I'll bet if he could have found the backing you would have seen SKR with two cars in 2010. JMO

Ten people posting here, me making eleven. And not one of us posters owns a single steering wheel to a race car, and our resumes will not list us as savvy, veteran car owners or multi-car owners, multi-team owners and multi-track owners. Has anybody considered the fact that if only we knew what Tony Stewart knows, were not here slinging around opinions, and how things could of, would of, should of .
The reported firing of Kraig could easily be a transfers to a new sister operation under the Steve Kinser Racing banner.
Let's not be surprised when the Quaker State colors begin to fly around the USAC circuit or on the side panels of certain stock cars.
With the possibilities and combinations being near endless. The one fact that we can count on, Tony knows.

Quaker State is owned by Shell....who also own Pennzoil
http://www.shell.us/home/content/usa/aboutshell/shell_motorsport/motorsport_index.html
So I don't think that QS will increase their spending in NASCAR, since they're already on the Hendrick cars; and carry the full sponsorship(as Shell/Pennzoil) on the Childress 29.

Yeah, about that. Blueteam is a car owner in Washington. Not really sure about any of the other posters in this thread.
Wrong or right in their opinions (subjective, objective blah blah blah) the opinion of the fans, like in any sport, means a whole helluva lot more than most people realize. Don't like speculation and the voicing of opinion? Tough shit. Better be happy that people are interested enough in things at this point that they're willing to spend their time speculating or voicing their opinions.

I don't doubt that duffy. I heard 3rd hand BPS played a major role in what/who they wanted in that car for TSR to be able to keep that sponsorship. But I'm sure there was plenty of qualified, capable, marketable,non-upandcoming drivers that could have used a move like this FAR more than SKR. JMO. No argument from me on how someone else should spend their money. Doesn't mean I have to like it, agree with it, or even accept it. I don't plan on buying a fishing boat or rod and reel anytime soon.

PS: Driver owns the steering wheel along with his seat. Thats why you never see him throw it.
