All OKC residents who are race fans need to vote no on December 8. I talked to Steve Ochs and he talked to a city councilman that is on the maps committee. He point blank asked him and he said they will tear down the speedway. He also asked about land for a new track and the councilman said that was not even in the discussion. He also asked about the supposed track at Lake Draper and he said that Tinker shot that down because it is in their flight path. I know this isn't really any new info, but the vote is tuesday and we need to try to get the word out as much as possible.

Vote YES!!!!!

That round dirt thing at the fairgrounds is NOT a racetrack.

1-It will make it easier for someone to build a real track around OKC.

2-I live and work downtown and a YES vote will make my property value go up.

Luv ya'll, Larry Neighbors

I am at the point what does it matter? Because people will do what they want and it is what it is. I probably will not go to any of the new projects maps3 will bring to OKC anyway. The word is that 2012 the race track will close, it's a done deal anyway if Maps3 gets voted down the track is gone. If I want to go to a race I will find a track and go. Oklahoma is full of race tracks and that will be my choice, and there will no wanta be politican make my choice for me. I will vote NO but what will it matter as it will probably pass anyway...

If your right on it closing in 2012 anyway. Might as well vote yes and keep OKC looking great. Maybe we will get the Olympics one day. Sure hope someone builds another track in OKC if it does happen. Glad to hear about the one in El Reno.

Vote NO. This is your Ascot, your Manzanita for *****"s sake!

But if you decide to let it all go, then you deserve it. I personally will have one less reason to come to your town.

You ain't gonna get that aura of the Fairgrounds back. Once gone, always gone. It does not follow to another track, look at Tulsa.

Larry, I can not believe you want to see a parking lot on the current site. It's not the facility that you are pissed about it's the management of the facility.

Either way with MAPS 3 it will cost the tax payers to demolish or refurbish the Speedway to ADA standards. So why not try to renovate it to current standards and maintain the History of the Speedway.

I for one would like to see a Financial Report showing the difference in cost for demolishing the Speeday as opposed to refurbishing the Speedway to see where my tax dollars are being spent. I honestly do not believe the cost of bringing the facility up to code would exceed the cost of demolition.

Some have said there is no way to bring the Speedway into compliance, those are the nay sayers. It would not be that difficult to build Handicap ramps to the lower tier of the grandstands and convert the ground level Restrooms to be ADA compliant.

I'm sorry I just don't get it as to why everybody in our Racing community is so eager to give up. Hell's bells "we are competitors" with a never quit attitude.

Progress is all good, but there are some instutions that need to be presevred for historical value.

Let me ask all one simple question...How many of you and how many of our children were raised at Fairgrounds Speedway?

I know for myself that I load up about 3 times a month from March to September and drive 90 miles north to eat, buy gas, then watch some of the best racing in the state. I for one will pobably miss it alot more than it will miss me.

Sorry, but if State Fair Speedway goes we will NEVER have as nice as track as we do now. Yeah there will be some bush league tracks built, but it will neve come close to what we have now.

I talked to a person on the maps committee and is on the fair board and maps3, pass or fail, will not change the outcome for the speedway peroid. They are going to tear down the speedway, but a timetable has not been established. I was told by this person that we will probably get to race in 2010 & 2011. Then it will be shut down and later torn down. I asked if we found a private party to pay for the repairs necessary to the grandstand would that give us another 4 or 5 years? The response was absolutlely not. Vote how you want to on Maps3, but the outcome of the vote does not affect the speedway.

Just the principle of the matter, still vote no. The rich people with the city need a reality check.

If I could vote here, I would vote no anyway because I want to be able to say no more fleecing tax-payers for useless and overly expensive projects that just agrandize the elites in city hall. I know that there is at least one somebody about to unload some land at about 3-5 times the price that it really should go for if this passes, the price being paid by your taxes. So, in summary, why you shouldn't vote for MAPS, because the politicians of city hall are as crooked as a curly fry, and a no vote is the only defense that this city has against their unjust enrichment.

I got an idea,

FOLLOW THE MONEY ON THAT CONVENTION CENTER THAT THREATENS THE SPEEDWAY. See who is under the weight of whom.

Does anybody wonder how much money is being spent on campaigning for voting yes for maps3? It would blow our minds but they would probably cover it up and try to make everbody look stupid as usual.

It would probably buy 1500 school buses LMAO.....

70 acre intercity park you ever wonder how long it will take to be infested with prostitutes and gang bangers?

I give it a couple of months before it is overrun, what with no police officers to patrol it.
