With the absence of Ralphie Saturday, Scott must have had a dry nite up in the booth.

Before this one gets blown out of proportion I need to set something straight. I am not much of a beer drinker. I drink water. Yes, Ralphie buys me a beer when he is at the races (Darren stepped in and sent me one in Ralphie's absence on Saturday), but I can't tell you when I drank more than half of one. Same on Saturday. Had a couple of sips and passed it on to someone else who looked thirsty. Just have never much cared for the taste of beer or any alcoholic beverage. Never order beer when I am in a restaurant, at a game etc.

My comment was more about Ralphies absence, than about brewskis. "Thanks for the cervesa Ralphie" along with "here comes Jones" are two Sottism's we here every week. Along with Rob's crack pipe and my love of ballet, all in good fun. BTW my daughter is in "The Nutcracker" next week in North Hollywood. There are a number of "Nutcracker" shows in the greater LA area every year. If you have rugrats take them to see a "Nutcracker" performance. Sprint cars and ballet have in common "Poetry In Motion". A mess of sprints sweeping sideways thru turn 3 and 4 is a wonderful sight.

To All
I was up north with family for the holiday and made big brownie points with the better half.
Glad that Darren stepped up and kept things going. I hope you all havea great holiday season and I am waiting for Feb 26 ??

I wish we had an audio clip of Scott thanking Ralphie for the beer. I think the best one yet came at this years Ovals when Scott went right into his impersonation of Homer Simpson by saying "Mmmmm, beer!" That was classic.

That was actually our sound engineer, Joe Zulewski, playing a Homer Simpson sound clip. Joe has a great sense of humor and much of the time the music he plays has a certain meaning. For instance, when it was freezing last week, he made sure to play "Heat Wave." And,, whenever it gets dusty, Joe is gonna' play "Dust in the Wind."

Sure gets my attention. If you look up above the announcers booth after hearing that, you'll see me looking down!

My prefrence is Thunderstruck "I get a tingly feeling up my leg" everytime I am watching the cars being pushed off when that tune comes on, one request would be to turn up the volume when it comes on.

I agree Grady, what a classic song for traditional sprint cars. Really gets me in the mood for open wheel slide jobs.

Thanks Dave, if you close your eyes when you play it you can almost see'em being pushed off. Man its only been a week and I'm already having withdrawls.

Trip, if all those people on the other board were to ever witness that song being played at the PAS they would understand why we say that. No question it is the best before a race,

Hey Guy's
Why not take Scott to the Chili Bowl and enjoy a great announcer.
Then you all can chip in and send him a beer.
