Kennedale TX (11/15/09) by DarinShort.com. Saturday night at Cowtown Speedway's November Sprint Shootout, Benton Arkansas driver Tim Crawley rallied the participating sprint drivers to provide team merchandise that would be sold to Cowtown fans. Those proceeds raised would all go directly to the Louis Jenkins Jr. recovery fund. Jenkins was injured at the November 7th Short Track Nationals.
Cowtown officials then took the gathered merchandise and got the fans in attendance on board with the effort, and when the t-shirts and hats stopped flying through the air (as it didn't take long to get wiped out of the supply of merchandise), a total of $500 was raised.
Even though most Cowtown fans in attendance have never seen Louis race as he has yet to venture to the Cowtown high banks, they still proudly supported the effort.
Thank you to Tim Crawley and the Mike Ward Motorsports team for spearheading the Cowtown recovery effort and we wish Louis a speedy and full recovery.
And congratulations to Tim and the crew on a very solid racing weekend, coming home third in the championship feature.
