Let me throw some more fuel on this posse or not posse comedy.
Daryn Pittman Pittsboro IN
Kyle Pruitt Monrovia MO
Brooke Tatnell Forest Lake MN
Sam Hafertepe Jr. Sunnyvale TX
Lance Dewease Thurmont MD
Is Tim Shaffer posse, All Star, FAST or all 3??
|
That must make me Posse too then or would it only be those that live in the northern part of town? I live on the south end of Forest Lake, MN, so maybe I'm not Posse.
I think it would be more accurate to refer to the car owners as Posse. I don't know where I'm going with this but I've got to finish what I'm doing in time to watch a cheesehead quarterback play in Green Bay for the Vikings. See, Sprint Car racing isn't the only thing that's confusing our loyalties.

Tim Shaffer isn't any of those 3. He is the "Steel City Outlaw" lol that settles that.

If they run 410's on the track and it's in PA it's a Posse track. 1 race ran a year or 60 races on it a year don't matter. Deal with it.
|
Only Central PA is posse. Everyone knows that.

Save for a few nights, Rahmer has not been fast in PA all year. The team did not change chassis mid-year because they driving away from everyone locally.

I'm going ON RECORD to state that The Hagerstown Speedway is NOT a Posse track....We only invite you guys a few times a year to show you how a real sprint car track should be...

This will be a good test on a neutral track, given that if that list holds true, there'll be more Posse there than Outlaws.

"Who says we can't win outside of Pennsylvania?" History does!
Out of all the years of strictly "Posse" drivers, how many have actually won over the years at non Pa tracks? My guess is not many. With the exclusion of Dewease's win at Charlotte who else has won a WoO race outside of Pa in recent memory?
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

There I go forgeting Stevie, again. I was talking about WoO races only, although Stevie did win one this year, it was at Lernerville. I know he won in Florida also.
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

Yeah, I like Hodnett, but sadly he has only 9 WoO wins in 554 starts. He did kick ass this year at the Grove though, but he did run on the Outlaw tour starting in 1991 in the 4a/Pack car.
As far as Kauffman he is definitely a legend, but he has only 5 WoO wins in 381 starts. The last WoO win came back in 1989 at the now defunct San Jose Speedway in Ca. Plus he ran a few years with the Outlaws as well.
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

Greg never passed a single car all weekend at Tunica but he was full value for his wins as he outdueled Sammy in the fastest game of 'chicken' I ever saw between two sprint cars. There were 3 starts to the dash and these two guys were side by side at full speed for most of the first lap on all three and Greg came out ahead, tremendous speed and nches apart, about my only memory of that whole weekend, not counting Darren Clayton's spectaculer flip. Greg was a hometown boy that weekend as Tunica is merely a suburb of Memphis were he was residing at the time. Got to meet Hooker Hood that weekend, a great, modest, fun man with a wonderful wife and kids. Take It Easy...
