23 cars showed up for the first qualifying night for Saturday nights $5000 to win show....Jason Hughes started on the pole and took off ahead of outside front row starter Terry Phillips , leading up to a twelve car length lead during the early going.....It looks as though Hughes would cruise to victory but lap nine saw the red come out when Randy Timms, Tim Karrik, Sawyer and another car got together with Karrik landing on his side.....From there the race changed as Shryock was right on Hughes' bumper on the restart.....Shyrock tried several attempts to take the lead but Hughes held the point throughout.....Then with three laps to go in the twenty lap feature, Phillips, who fell back to as far a fifth, found the top to his liking and started to make up the fifteen car length deficit to Hughes and Shryock....On the white flag lap entering turn one, Phillips got a good run up against the wall and out ran Shryock down the backstretch for the runner up position.......Then entering turns three and four he was at the very top of the track, Shryock in the middle and Hughes down low with Phillips getting a run off turn four to take the victory by a half car length.....Not much of a Phillips fan but I give credit as he ran one hell'uve a race....Hughes got second, Shryock third, Jeremy Payne fourth, Greg Skaggs fifth and Johnny Bone, Jr. got sixth and the final automatic transfer spot into saturday nights feature finale......Don't forget that racing starts at 5:00 PM on Saturday night!!!!

Were Winged Outlaw Warriors there too?
hehe.
sounds like the race was kinda exciting. You didn't happen to get the urge to take off streakin' did you? lol.
I'm in a joking/jovial mood obviously.
Hey man that race sounds a lot like the last Enid race I saw - u was there - remember the NCRA mod race where the dude came out of nowhere on last lap to pass for the lead? that was cool. although i think that winning pass was made coming off of 2 - and what you describe was off 4. Those are always exciting. thanks for the brief recap of the event dude. good stuff. I imagine even despite the October chill the crowd loved it.
