For Immediate Release

Gurney Wins At Silver Dollar Speedway

CHICO, Calif., March 24, 2007 – Chuck Gurney Jr. led his WB Motorsports 360 Sprint car to an impressive win in the Silver Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway Friday night.

Gurney, who led all 20 laps in his Santamauro Race Products/Hurricane/Bailey Bros race car, put an end to his four-year run of bad luck at Chico.

“It felt good to finally get a victory at Chico,” Gurney said. “We’ve been racing here since 2003 and something bad always seems to happen to me in the main event. This win was huge, and I want to thank Walt Branco and Brian Sperry for all of their help and support.”

Gurney, who was pulling double-duty Friday night, finished a disappointing twelfth for Sperry Racing after dropping out with overheating problems in the Wingless Sprint feature.

“We won our heat race and were moving up in the feature when another car half-spun leaving me nowhere to go,” Gurney said. “We fought our way back up to seventh before the overheating problem ended our night.”

Gurney will look to continue his good fortune in the 360 Sprints while bouncing back in his Eagle/Bailey Bros Wingless Sprint car Saturday night in the Silver Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway.

“I have a great opportunity to win both races Saturday as both of my cars are really fast,” Gurney said. “I just need to keep my nose clean and the throttle down.”

The winner of the winged sprint main will pay $2,000 Saturday night with the wingless paying $1,000 to the driver who takes the checkered. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m. local time. For more information, log on to www.johnpadjenmotorsports.com.

Chuck Gurney Jr. is a third generation driver with more than 200 career wins, including three national quarter-midget championships. Team Gurney Racing is sponsored by Indy Performance Composites, ClubSport, Blueline Company, Row Printing, Red Line Synthetic Oil, Velocity Sports Performance, D&E Printing, Ultra Shield Race Products, Impact Racing Products and Fontana Automotive.
