Due to excessive rains and more forecasted, the 22nd Annual O'Reilly Short Track Nationals Presented By Hoosier Racing Tires has been rescheduled for Wednesday-Saturday, November 4th-7th at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas. With over an inch of rain already falling this week and possibly as much as four inches of rain forecasted for Thursday and Friday, the staff wanted to make a decision in advance to save fans and racers, time and money.

On Wednesday, November 4th an Open Practice night will be held with qualifying nights being held on Thursday, November 5th and Friday, November 6th. The championship finale will be held on Saturday, November 7th.

The only, and I do mean the only, thing good about this is now I won't have to try to be two places at once. I can now go to both nights of the $5000 to win for modifieds "Fall Brawl" at Outlaw Motor Speedwy and now make at least two nights of the STN next weekend.

I appluad Tracy (Clay) for making this decision early for all parties involved.

Well, there are 121 paid pre-entries, of which, my guestimate would be about 15 of those that were/are planning on Charlotte.

So, assuming all 15 still go to Charlotte and 1/2 dozen teams can't make next weeks reschedule date, that leaves 100 teams for the STN...well...assuming this weather pattern finally straightens out.

And now this forms 3 straight weekends in a row of big sprint shows:

Nov. 5-7 $15,000 to win I-30 Speedway Short Track Nationals...then head down I-30 for the...

Nov. 13-14 Triple $1000's qualifiers/$7000 to win finale November Sprint Shootout at Cowtown Speedway...

...on the way to the...

Nov. 19-21 Western World Championships $15,000/win in Tucson AZ

WOW... That sounds like a hell of a plan but not this year for me, maybe next year. To bad that every racing association and or series, Does not have a PR/ Promoter that does there job as well as dmantx.

Thanks for all of the updates that you provide the racing community that can not make it to allot of races, as well as the competitors and the travailing fans as well.

Thanks for your comments RH...and for that matter...several others from your area have expressed similar comments through PM's and emails.

And for that, I'll share with you a bit of my rationale behind the effort:

During the past 30 years, I either was/am involved in about every aspect of racing: promoter, sponsor, sprint team owner; GM at 3 different modified, stock car and sprint chassis manufacturers.

That being said: most importantly besides all of that is #1, I am a fan of racing.

So when packaging any event I simply look at what I would want and expect as a fan, a race team and a sponsor and then wrap it all together.

And the end result is that the track will get their piece of the action too.

If you're like me, and you're a fan of racing (and stuffed-full pit areas with non-stop racing), then you're going to have a pretty good time at one of our events!

Plus, whatever the 'featured' division is, we're not going to make you wait until the last race of the night to see it.

I think in our last 4 nighttime scheduled '09 ASCS races the latest an A-feature ended was around 10:30pm; which is very family friendly...some youngsters are wiped out by then, and the parents get to at least see what they paid for before leaving 'early.'

Hope we see a bunch of you Sooner fans back at the NSS in 2 weeks...TBJ and Brady Bacon are the most recent sprint entries from your area...and we're getting bombarded with OK outlaw/non-winged ASCS2 entries as well.

We should easily cross the 200-car mark for the third straight Cowtown event at the NSS.

My official 'off the record' prediction for total car count to the NSS is 249...which would put it within 3 cars of the all-time Cowtown track record set at the Cowtown Midget Championships this past February.

2-day adult advance tickets for the $85,000 (in cash) purse are just $35. Available until the day before the race, online only. Kids/youth still just $2/$5 a night.

Thanks again for all of the support coming from north of the border, we're proud to offer events like this to keep you full of racing memories throughout the winter months...and at family affordable prices!

www.CowtownSpeedway.com for more info...and have a great weekend...see some of you at the STN next week!
