I'm pretty sure the Goodyear rule is for 410's only. How many races will the 305's be running next year? I think they put on a great show everytime this past season.

Not sure. I would hope that they would run them a lil more often with the car counts that they were getting last year. Probably 18 to 20 average a nite. Nothing to beat the 360 and 410 counts but its a start!

I would like to see all 3 classes run next year. The 305's put on a good show and the more sprint cars the better.

I went to several races this year at Knoxville and would have to say the racing was as good as I have seen it in a long time. All 3 classes are very competitive and they all put on a good show. Definitely a 1st class facility. The one thing they need to do is make sure they start on time, especially if they have all three classes. There were nights that the heats were over by 8:30 and other nights they did not get started until almost then. Maybe they could even move the start time up a 1/2 hour. A lot of people drive a few hours to get there and it is nice to get back on the road in a decent time. I know, sometimes there are things (crashes) that are out of their control and the nights run long. At least start off on time. Other than that, I would say they do a great job at Knoxville.

I agree completely and wish the 305's would be weekly too. I dont see them starting earlier due to the sun and its effect on the track but on a cloudy day (which we have had plenty this year) would make it ok.

Definately had good racing in the 305's this year. I hope it can stay a lower dollar entry level series and not get out of hand like the 360's did. Anyone tell me what rules are in place to keep it that way? I'm usually not a fan of claims but maybe a fairly high but resonable claim would keep things in check. It would be good to see the local gearheads be able to put something together and compete on smaller budgets like they used to.

I agree. The 360's are going to be just as expensive if not more expensive than the 410's in comming years. As far as knoxville goes when it comes to 305's. They have done a relitivly good job of keeping the cost down. The rules in place now are somewhat broad but still spicific enough to keep someone from going overboard. Knoxville needs to keep this class close in competition and easy on the driver/owners pocket. Because only there will 305's really be recognised and respected as a up and comming sprint car class.

It will be a good class if they don't keep letting them have more and more stuff like they did the 360's. Should of kept that class with steel heads etc. There's a lot of 305's around hopefully the costs will stay low or people won't be able to afford them!

Don't forget to add a couple more $1000 to the motor if you run Knoxville, they allow dry sumps!

If $14,000 is a lot for a 305 what would be a reasonable price, not a cheap price?
From a fans perspective I see people complaining about everything being spec and it ends up costing the drivers more because each track has its own rules.
But then people saying you need to regulate b/c the owners with the money will be the only ones competing to win b/c they have the best and most expensive equipment.
Is there really a way to keep engine costs down for the drivers?

There is an IMCA Mod class that seem's to have the right idea buy a spec motor for $4000 and when it blows up you just go get another because they are under warranty the only difference would be what injection you bolt on. Just a thought.

All tracks ought to be ran like ronnie milton's jacksonville ill track. they don't play around.
as one race is leaving the track another race is getting on the track.

Shouldn't have over $3000.00 in a long block minus injection. They'll price these out of the ballpark and owners will be parking them.Knoxville is who ruined the 360 class by letting them have aluminum heads and what ever else they have let them have. If Knoxville goes to the 305's they will probally run them out of business!
