Did anyone see the Nascar pre race show Sunday?  I was told that Jeff said he would be racing a sprint car at Eldora this year,  also said he would be running a midget some this year.  Did anyone see this?

Yes, I saw the interview, Kenny Wallace had said that he and Tony Stewart had bought a speedway. He asked Jeff about making an appearance and Jeff replied by saying as his career keeps growing that he would like to go back and race in the series that out him where he is today.

We of the Open Wheel world would welcome Jeff back with open arms, but I highly doubt he will be racing any Sprints or Midgets in the near future...

It would be great to see Jeff come back "home". His involvement in our sport has been all too rare. Perhaps Tony, Kasey & JJ can help him see the light?

His involment may have been rare but Tony, Kasey, JJ and a slew of others can thank him for knocking the door wide open. Now before you jump all over me, Let me remind you that these kind of guys are back at Indy in front engine cars with handmade bodies! If only they would take the fenders off!

I'm losing interest ( admittingly the small amount that I had in reserved for the last 10 years... maybe more) in NASCAR, but doesn't KENNY SCHRADER still like to toss a RACEcar sideways now and then on clay? I think I've read of it... just curious.

According to the results posted on his website, Schrader ran 52 races on short-tracks in 2006. He has his 2007 short-track schedule through June posted also. I only wish he would get back into a sprint car or midget instead on those goofy late models and modifieds.

I am not sure but I think Schrader always had a clause in his NASCRAP contracts that he can't run sprints or midgets. I could be wrong, however, and probably am.

I think it would be neat if Schrader, Gordan, Blaney and Edwards (the more successful drivers) would field a sprint car team either with USAC, the WoO or both.

I think you are wrong, lol. Kenny raced the Chili Bowl and at least one of the "old" asphalt champ cars "new" sanctioning body in 2006 didn't he? I know he was running occasional USAC Silver Crown races as late as 1990. Dave Blaney was a last minute replacement for Kenny in Milwaukee that year, shortly after Rich Vogler was killed. (I was told that had something to do with his decision...not sure if that is true or not)

i think its great that Jeff Gordon is giving something back to sprint car racing...this puts him right up there with Boris Said and Tony Stewart.

Haven't watched a NASCAR Pre-Race show in awhile, but do they still interview the same 5-6 drivers each week no matter where they qualified as they seem to make a story out of the most mundane issues?

Maybe Jeff Gordon won't get booed out of the joint as he did at Wrigley Field.

He ran an indoor midget race a couple of months ago in Columbus Ohio. He dropped out of the A pretty early but it was still pretty cool to see him there. Jack Arute (spelling?) and Sarah Fisher were there also. Jack ran with the 600cc micros and Sarah was there doing PR.

Would love to see Jeff in a sprinter again, but probably not at the "Big E". Now an appearance at K.C. may be another thing since that was the track where he first won in a Sprint Car. I still remember him racing there regularly when he was 13 - 14 yeas old. Hard to believe that has been 20+ years ago.

It would be cool to see him run a sprint car again. I know that he has talked about owning a WoO team in the past but it never materialized. Maybe this would help spark his interest again.
